What our customers say about their holidays

Another wonderful stay in the bungalow.
I donât know whether to mention this but it is a wonderful writerâs retreat. The view must be one of the best in Derbyshire - rolling hills and alpacas grazing (and for the foreseeable future, no through road). There needs to be a desk/ dressing table in the bay window main bedroom to write from and look out, but I worry if this happens, other writers will book the place up! Much time was spent writing on the decking area table at the front. It faces West so the sunsets can be amazing. We walked down to the nice Tickled Trout (half a mile) and stayed put most the time. I reversed the car up the steep drive and once it was wedged in was pleased not to have to do that again! Apparently most people park at the bottom of the drive, but I preferred a car-free view. One slight annoyance was I think the previous vacationers may have had a joint but we opened the windows and then it was fine and no reflection on the bungalow. We worked out the reclining sofas had phone chargers in which was handy on a rainy evening watching Netflix movies. The garden behind was lovely to lie in - our picnic rug got well used. The only noise were owls, clip-clopping of horses and occasionally tractors in the fields. Bliss. Hope to come here for a third time if it doesnât get too booked up. It is a very special place.

Our third time at the bungalow.
We love staying here. You cannot beat the peace and quiet and the views are out of this world. The bungalow is clean and bright, modern and spacious. Owners are really pleasant. Milk and cakes were very much appreciated on our arrival. The only thing is that our car does not like being parked on the steep driveway and the oil light always comes on, however, you can park at the bottom of the drive on the roadway. No traffic comes past as you are the last property on a no through lane, so its not a problem. Plenty of walks around and good dog friendly pubs, especially the peacock ( chef and brewer)on owler bar roundabout ( not in Barlow) also the shoulder of mutton in Chapel en le Frith. People are very welcoming in the area. After staying for the third time, it feels like home and we wish it was! The owners are so lucky to have such a lovely bungalow, you really could not design a better place to stay.

Had a lovely stay at the bungalow.
.excellent position. It doesn't look much from the outside but inside it has been renovated to a good standard and has a really nice feel with all you need, with a brilliant outlook over the fields. It was clean and welcoming with all the facilities you need.Only small gripes for us were the thermostats on radiators a bit hit and miss and the matress wasn't supportive enough for us but this is a personal preference. The gardens could do with some maintenance but still nice to relax in,especially as it's a little suntrap at the back of the property. We have stayed at a few cottages, and they are expensive, but if you like a home from home with a good location then you get your monies worth. All in all we would recommend and with a few tweeks here and there would be even better.

Really nice property and amazingly kind owners especially after my dogs tore the kitchen wall paper, hopefully anyone else that stays there realises the property was in top condition until my horrors decided to strip the lower part in the kitchen.
Garden was great for the dogs and location was ideal and not far from Skegness or Ingoldmells which suits us well. Kitchen was well fitted but not really used as we eat out everyday, Hopefully we can book again and now that I've purchased a playpen the doggie night time antics are a thing of the past. Please do WhattsApp me when you get the kitchen repaired and I will pay for the repairs. Many Many Thanks for the Lovely Property and for being so Understanding, I do hope your coming guests will appreciate that repairs will only be done when the property has some empty time and not mark you critically for something out of your control. Stuart, Nic, Shane and the naughty Skye, Echo

Had a few days here, owner seemed really nice and pleasant on the phone.
Garden was excellent for our little dog. Property itself was a bit too cluttered with owners possessions, felt a bit like we had gone to stay with an elderly relative. Beds not particularly comfortable, maybe needs new mattresses. Because if all the clutter cleanliness wasn't 100%, dusty and a few cobwebs. Lounge window very dirty inside. On arrival had to wash cutlery as a few items had been left with dried food on them ( mainly dessert spoons... Looked like cereals). Despite these comments, the bungalow was well placed for exploring the area, and with just a little TLC would be a very good place to visit again.
