What our customers say about their holidays

From the moment we arrived I was impressed with Broadleaf Lodge.
It was immaculately presented and spotlessly clean. Although 5 adults, a baby and 2 dogs were staying the week we never felt on top of each other. When we wanted to spend time together we could, but there was also enough space for people to enjoy some quiet time alone if they wished. The conservatory was a great hiding spot for those wishing to read in peace and also handy for hiding our little girls birthday presents in until her celebration at the end of the week! The dogs enjoyed the freedom of the garden, paddock and whole downstairs and settled well sleeping in the utility (even though they are both bed dogs at home!). There were even toys and books for the little one so we would have managed easily without bringing our own. The log fire was cosy, the kitchen well equipped and the beds comfy. The addition of two beautifully appointed bathrooms was the icing on the cake. Even though the house is situated away from the village, it is an easy walk or drive to the shop with post office and pharmacy and a good deal of other amenities and attractions are within easy reach. One day a few of us went to Lincoln which was a short drive to the park and ride at Waitrose then a 10 minute bus ride to the cathedral. Another day we tried Doddington Hall which has lovely walks and shops even though the hall and gardens were closed. Jane was a lovely host, greeted me on arrival then left us to it, but always responded quickly to messages on the odd occasion we needed anything. After leaving we gave some feedback which she has taken graciously on board and fully seen from a guests perspective. We genuinely didn't want to leave and will definitely try and return in future to enjoy this beautiful house. 5 stars all day long!

Wow! What a stay!
From start to finish our little trip was a breeze. Booking was super quick with all instructions and when we arrived all was super clean, tidy and presentable. We had a dog and an 11 month baby and had ample room and space for everything we needed. Rooms were very spacious and modern and the hot tub was a lovely luxury to relax and unwind in the lovely summer evenings. We took advantage of booking Samantha who is a mobile masseuse (details on FB page for Farriers Cottage) and both had relaxing Swedish massages which were an extra treat! The local pubs are lovely but are rarely open which is a shame but when they are, they are dog friendly and have nice outdoor space. Lots of surrounding areas for nice walks and watching the jets fly past from RAF Scampton was brill! The local shop was an experience too! Like a time warp! But does have a lot of items to select and lovely fresh cobs to make some lunch with. We were sad when we had to leave and we will definitely be back. We would highly recommend Farriers Cottage as a play to stay, with or without a dog, and would urge anyone to book book book this little gem! Thanks for having us â¤ï¸

Granary Loft.
.... What can we say! A wonderful break for us all, including Harley our Collie cross Labrador. Helen and Peter made us feel realy welcome and at home, they loved Harley! The milk and Daffodils were an added bonus, beautiful. It was above and beyond our expectations, lovely and peaceful, with plenty of walks nearby, including the Viking way, about a hundred yards or so from our front door! Everything was clean and tidy and warm as well, all the amenities you could wish for a welcome break. A very comfortable queen size bed to rest our weary heads, after a busy day exploring. Many lovely villages to visit and superb ale houses which also provided excellent beer and food. Not far to travel to Belvoir Castle and the Grantham canal. We were so laid back we were horizontal, a superb place for our two week break and plenty of space for Harley to run and play. The weather was pants, but we were warm and dry, a wonderful place for a real break from the hussle and bussle of the busy world in which we now live. We shall definitely book again and are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you so much Helen and Peter. God bless you. Nick and Margaret.

When we booked the property on the 31/03/21 the web site pictures showed a garage and front lawned garden.
At some stage perhaps you could let me know when the garage had been converted to another property and extended to block the frontal view from the lounge. The lawn was no longer ours nor did we have access the front door ( not quite what we booked on the website!) We were due to arrive on 02/07/21 giving 3 months for either yourselves or the owner to have the honesty and openness to tell us about the build and now only 1 parking space . When you sent the key code on 25/06/21 there still was no mention and still 2 parking spaces. The owner contacted me a few days before with some details and saying use back door only and that the garden was for the use of the Forge. As you can imagine our expectations have not been met and neither yourselves or the owner had the honesty to divulge this when we booked. Although we had a good holiday the experience was not as expected having no grass for our pet, no access to the front door, 1 parking space and left to carry our luggage down the side of the property and into the back courtyard.

Absolutely beautiful, superb, high quality property in an incredibly peaceful and lush corner of the countryside.
This was a family/friends stay for a milestone birthday and each of us agreed it was the loveliest and most perfect holiday home we had ever stayed in. The rooms are tastefully decorated and every last detail has been considered. Take binoculars as you'll spot lots of birds on the lawn. The wonderful design of the house allows maximum to enter and we enjoyed sunshine in the mornings on the balcony then in the private garden area in the afternoon. Although there are plenty of attractions close by (Brunsby equine charity a particular hit) but we found the house was so perfectly suited to our needs, we were loathe to wander too far (even the 7 and 11 year old preferred to stay there!) Host Jane is amazing - generous, thoughtful, friendly and extremely accommodating. A place we wish to return to again and again and will live long in our memories. A real oasis of calm - and astonishingly, the photo's do not do it justice - thank you Jane for a truly lovely week.
