  Immaculately maintained, tiny characterful property.

  The Old Stable had everything we needed for a comfortable week away, although I would not think a longer stay would be practicable owing to the basic cooking facilities (a portable two ring electric hob and microwave) and just a tumble drier meaning handwashing lighter items of clothing, finding a laundrette or bringing lots of stuff. We appreciated the good quality tea, coffee bags and biscuits which are the hallmark of a thoughtful and welcoming host. Towels and tea towels are provided but bring your own beach towels. The bed on its little gallery is comfortable but we found moving the rolling steps to and fro in order to cook then wash up a bit of a faff, be aware they are quite heavy with steel handrails and glass panels. We knew about this arrangement, and it wouldn't put us off staying here again. No outside space of course, which we also knew about, but the quiet beach is adjacent and is one of our favourites on the Lizard. The Five Pilchards pub, which in the past has done good pub food, has closed down and is for sale but we had a great meal at the beach café next door. I know people rave about the Fat Apples café just up the lane but every time we went past we had just missed it being open. It shuts promptly at 5 pm. Our dog enjoyed staying here and we were glad she couldn't get up the steep steps and attempt to climb onto the bed to find us, which she sometimes does in an unfamiliar house. She had to stay in her own dog bed. She knew where we were and could see us so she was content. This was a definite plus for us.

  We discovered Coverack the previous year and were keen to return to this quaint part of Cornwall. The house is situated on the coastal path with stunning views of the sea and surrounded by lush vegetation. The private decking area in front of the house is an absolute gem: a riot of flowers, the sound of waves lapping and seagulls swooping above and below, a wonderful place to soak up the sun or have a lively family meal. The house itself is extremely comfortable and imaginatively furnished with every amenity a guest could possibly want whilst the views from almost every window are stunning. The village shop has absolutely everything and the Paris Inn served an excellent birthday meal for our eldest son. The paddle boarding was great and the park not only perfect for little ones but with the most amazing vista. If you want a sandy beach keep an eye on low tide times and parking isn't a problem if you arrive early or late. I cannot recommend both the house and Cornwall Hideaways highly enough.

  Post Box Cottage, a beautiful, quirky and cosy cottage in the depths of Dartmoor, which means narrow roads, beautiful walks and stunning scenery close by.

  The cottage is well equipped and welcoming, the kitchen serves its purpose with everything close to hand, the dining area is tastefully furnished and the lounge perfect, no doubt in the colder months the log burner will help provide that little extra touch of cosiness. When you climb the steep curved staircase you are greeted by a modern and spacious landing converted to a luxurious bathroom, there is a large shower and inviting bath. The adjacent bedroom is spacious and the king size bed comfortable. We were the first guests at Post Box cottage and enjoyed our stay, our two four legged friends loved the long walks but struggled with the short late evening dark walk for convenience purposes. There is courtyard parking adjacent to the cottage but access is difficult and quite steep particularly if you have a low car. There is additional parking close by but this can also be a challenge.   Booked secretly by my tremendous partner, for a birthday getaway. This place was incredible! I dearly love Cornwall and Prospect Cottage ticked all the boxes. The location was un-believable and the view was awe inspiring. You could imagine Jack Sparrow ambling up the path in the evening, with wood smoke in the air and gulls calling. Prospect cottage is a credit to the Owners and their team. If you stay here you'll want for nothing, irrespective of the weather. This place is so comfortable, cosy, and immaculately presented. I'd buy it, if I had more than a thrupenny bit and a conker to my name, ha ha.
