  We had a fabulous week staying in this apartment and Downderry.

  It is wonderfully located to the beach, which is beautiful and not over crowded even in half term. If you want a slightly more active beach, but still not crowded, stroll along the shore to the right and you’ve got it, along with more places to eat. The apartment had almost everything needed; it lacked a drying rack which sounds silly to worry about but you either have to use the tumble dryer or hang over the outside furniture. Not a big deal but one I wasn’t expecting. Cleanliness took a slight hit because when I went to use it it had the last guest spilt food in it, but we didn’t use it in the end anyway in the end. The thoughtfulness for our dog was a lovely touch. We took our own bed and blankets but the provided ones were a bonus as meant extra covers so he could come up on the sofa which he loves. The view was amazing to wake up to and have sundowners to. But I can honestly say, the mattresses and pillows were by far the comfiest I have slept on when staying in a holiday home. I now want to change all mine! I would highly recommend staying here to anyone if you’re reading the reviews to help make up your mind.

  When we arrived at the cottage it was absolutely freezing in the property.

  I understand that there is a timer in the property however when guests are arriving it should be warm enough for them to enter, we had a 2 year old with us and was very cold. We then put the heating on and it took a long time to heat the house up and the radiator in the living room did not heat up to the fullest compared to other radiators in the house and the downstairs toilet heater did not work at all and the bathroom was cold the whole time. The upstairs bathroom door has a big gap underneath it and does not provide the privacy in which a bathroom should. The water in the shower did not heat up enough and was luke warm and the power in the water for a shower upstairs was very slow. The location of the property is lovely and the size of the rooms were great however we would not return to this property due to the above reasons. We also feel that there should be some sort of mirror opposite the parking in the back garden in order for you to be able to see oncoming traffic as you are blind coming out of the drive.

  We really enjoyed our stay!

  Hope Cottage was very comfortable and very well decorated with lovely colour schemes and home comforts. Immaculately clean and tidy. Every thing needed and more, for a short break (or longer stay). Nice touches with the bread, milk, prosecco and dog bowls and treats, much appreciated! Only additions to suggest would be provision of a sieve and a clothes horse! {known as a washing maiden in Lancs?!} For us personally, a double bed was a bit of a squeeze but it was our choice to book somewhere with a double bed but, as above in new immaculate condition. Neighbours polite and offered to be called on if required. Area lovely and quiet. One small issue with the heating was very pleasantly sorted out with a quick visit, and instructions given to reset the system if needed (which we did another couple of times during our stay).   Post Box Cottage, a beautiful, quirky and cosy cottage in the depths of Dartmoor, which means narrow roads, beautiful walks and stunning scenery close by.

  The cottage is well equipped and welcoming, the kitchen serves its purpose with everything close to hand, the dining area is tastefully furnished and the lounge perfect, no doubt in the colder months the log burner will help provide that little extra touch of cosiness. When you climb the steep curved staircase you are greeted by a modern and spacious landing converted to a luxurious bathroom, there is a large shower and inviting bath. The adjacent bedroom is spacious and the king size bed comfortable. We were the first guests at Post Box cottage and enjoyed our stay, our two four legged friends loved the long walks but struggled with the short late evening dark walk for convenience purposes. There is courtyard parking adjacent to the cottage but access is difficult and quite steep particularly if you have a low car. There is additional parking close by but this can also be a challenge.   Thank you for a lovely stay.

  The apartment was very well equipped with everything we could need. It was even better than the pictures. We loved the view and the location. This is the best holiday accommodation we have stayed in, and we have stayed in a few. We very much hope to come back. We enjoyed the local pub and also The Beach House in Seaton. It was great to be able to walk along the beach to Seaton. Two lovely villages for the price of one! The only thing that could be improved in the property is I couldn’t work out to adjust the heated towel rail in the main bathroom which was very hot throughout our stay and scorching to touch so we had to be careful with our little girl. It was excellent for drying the towels though!! Thank you again for a wonderful stay. I am so sad to be home!
