What our customers say about their holidays
Sally - Verified booking
Very friendly neighbours in the farmhouse - especially the dogs!
Gorgeous location on a working farm and the cottage was spacious and comfortable. The directions to the farm were good. We suspect the lack of loo paper on our arrival was an oversight. A couple of teabags would have been nice too. We failed to notice that there is a fridge but no freezer in the description. The dishwasher didn't seem to want to work, but washing up for only 2 was not a problem - once we'd bought more washing - up liquid, and a dish cloth etc. Excellent local supermarket in very nearby Craven Arms. The heating in the house was excellent, and we were able to dry our washing in the spacious airing cupboard ( the dryer with the washing machine did not seem to be effective) For the price, lack of things like loo roll, adequate washing-up liquid etc is not unreasonable. I suppose it's just that we've come to expect it in previous similar holiday cottages we've stayed in, and when you are only away for a week or less then you don't really want to have to buy or bring those sort of things with you; it just feels a bit stingy and unwelcoming on the part of the owners, which is a pity as they were very warm people. I wouldn't mind paying a little extra to be sure basic things like this are provided.

We will be rebooking Rockhill Farmhouse next year.
The accommodation was outstanding. The best accommodation we have ever stayed in. The location was fantastic, walks from the doorstep including one of the best sections of Offas Dyke. The views from the Farmhouse are stunning, you can see Long Mynd, Stiperstones and Wenlock to name a few. Clun offers a shop, pub and towns including Ludlow, Bishops Castle, Church Stretton and Knighton are a short drive away on quiet well kept roads. There is also another lovely cottage onsite so a larger group can stay at Rockhill. The Farmhouse can easily accommodate 4 people with a very well stocked kitchen. The wifi was superfast. The beds were very comfortable, great showers. The lounge with a log fire, smart TV, it is a home from home. There are 4 acres for dogs with dog bags provided. Lovely places to sit out and enjoy the farmland and nightsky. No light pollution or noise it is so peaceful. We could not rate it high enough. Thank you to Eileen, Vaughan and Monty the dog. We will be regulars here, what a great holiday.

The Rockhill Farmhouse is beautifully furnished to the highest standard with everything you could possibly want.
It is a real home from home. Vaughan and Eileen gave us a great welcome. The Farmhouse is set idyllic countryside with wonderful views and provides a great base whether you are looking for rest and relaxation or want a more energetic break. There are walks of all degrees of length and difficulty and many cycle tracks. Vaughan happily provided lots of information. There are plenty of historic sites to visit, towns, castles, stately homes and gardens. Clun itself is a sweet village with its own ruined castle. For âFoodiesâ there is plenty of local produce and many different âeateriesâ. We love Ludlow Farm Shop and the covered Market Hall in Shrewsbury for food shopping and could happily compile a huge list of the places we visited. It is a property we will return to regularly as there will always be something new to explore.

Really lovely cottage, one of the best we have stayed at. It's in an excellent location which is very quiet and peaceful, yet easy to get to. You can walk straight out of the door into the grounds of Croft Castle. The owners have thought of absolutely everything you might need during your stay. There are lots of thoughtful touches from the everything-you-could-possibly-need-kitchen, to a place to store your wellies, clean your dog (if you have one), to books, games, a radio, and even a sewing kit in the cupboard. Nash Lodge is beautifully decorated with upcycled furniture and is spotlessly clean. There was a great welcome pack, spacious off road parking, and a small garden and patio outside to enjoy the good weather. Would highly recommend this 12/10 cottage.

We loved Marigold Cottage.
And we loved Clun. A small village of 680 people but with two pubs, a village store with Post Office, ironmongers, gift and craft shops, two cafes, a mini tourist information and shop. Walks all around - wonderful countryside. The National Collection of Aeoniums if you're into horticulture. The cottage itself has everything you might want and we hardly used the central heating as, although the weather was wet and windy at times, the wood burning stove heats the whole cottage (although not great environmentally of course but just occasionally it's lovely to have). We cooked a lot and found everything we needed - the knives were sharp! Thoroughly recommend. Enjoy.
