  Absolutely faultless.

  This is a very well thought out property. It is well equipped, makes the most of the location and is brilliantly set out. Sunshine on the patio at breakfast and sunset either in the hut, hot tub or lower garden. Bed comfort was divine. We all hit the pillows and slept really well. The open plan layout is great when one is cooking, others playing board games or reading at the same time. Lots of lovely touches like the welcome pack, fresh flowers and toiletries. Fantastic location, easy access to daytime adventures and peaceful at night when you kick back and enjoy the magnificent views. All you hear is birdsong and farm animals, minimal passing traffic. The games barn, hot tub and heated hut take care of what to do when you're not out and about exploring. This property has all eventualities covered. A little constructive feedback: if we'd known that the lower floor was out of bounds for dogs we'd have given this place a miss.......and it would have been our loss! Thankfully we'd taken a vets pheromone spray so having their bed in a strange place away from hoomans wasn't a deal breaker. Also for small breed dogs the garden is not 100% secure. The patio table obscures a visible gap in the chicken wire and our shihtzu's discovered it. Again no great harm done, a little vigilance kept them and the cows apart. There is so much more space for them to play and explore. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would strongly recommend it.

  We had a wonderful week at Pastures Barn.

  The house was clean and well equipped, especially for children and dog owners. Jo and Giles provided dog beds, towels and throws for the furniture and the artificial grass in the gated patio area meant the dogs paws were clean if they nipped out for a wee. Outside the gated patio was a larger section of grass, great for garden games, which were stored in the shed. The games room was a fantastic addition to the accommodation, we spent hours playing pool, darts, fussball, air hockey, table tennis and singing on the karaoke. The hot tub and sauna were lovely for relaxing in. Additional towels were also provided for the hot tub and sauna. The gates at the top and bottom of the stairs gave us reassurance that the dog couldn’t sneak up the stairs and the toddler couldn’t sneak down without our knowledge. This allowed us to sleep well in the comfortable beds. We also took advantage of the dog sitting service so we could have a family day out to Alton Towers. Jo sent me a couple of reassuring messages throughout the day and our 15-year-old Collie was very content in their home. In addition to Alton Towers there are some lovely places to visit. If you like a market day, head to Bakewell on a Monday. Monkey Forest and Trentham Shopping Village are about 40 mins away and worth a visit.   By far the best holiday cottage I've stayed in.

  It was so wonderful, I wanted to live there! Both Louise & Darren are lovely hosts, genuinely wanting their guests to feel at home. Cottage has the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, the bath was luxurious with piping hot water. Kitchen had all necessary essentials, plenty of books & DVD's in the lounge area and a very comfy sofa which looks out onto the private, grassed garden. Biscuits & milk were left as a 'welcome' which was very much appreciated. Although the cottage backs onto the road, there was hardly any traffic and no traffic could be heard at all from inside the cottage. There was under-floor heating too which my dog loved to lie on, preferring it to his doggy bed. The weather wasn't too great with intermittent high winds, sleet and hail, but I was more than cosy and it was lovely sitting on the sofa, looking out into the garden and changes in weather. As someone who thrives amongst nature, peace & quiet, this cottage was perfect. I would highly recommend this cottage and I hope to book again, perhaps in the Autumn.   Genuinely cannot think of anything negative to say about this let.

  Three lovely bedrooms, gorgeous spacious kitchen and cosy, relaxed lounge. The games room is wonderful and could not have been better for my husband and teenaged son. Loved that there were safety gates top and bottom of stairs and 'no dogs upstairs' policy as it would have been impossible to keep our energetic black dog off the white bedding without them and I would have spent 3 days stressing over it! Great place for dog walks. Secure garden area with AstroTurf for dog so he could run in and out freely without having his paws wiped every time. Dog towels and throws provided for the 3 leather sofas (although we'd taken our own). All the little extra welcome gifts gave it a really special holiday feel and including the important supplies like bin bags, dishwasher tablets and kitchen rolls (although I'd taken them, not expecting everything to be so well stocked) was very thoughtful as it's a bit of a faff to drive into Leek everything you've forgotten something. Everything was spotless, especially considering it's a dog friendly let. Will definitely return.

  Property was AMAZING!

  clean, well maintained, great views with all the little luxuries you could want. Hot tub on an evening looking over fields and hills after a day of walking the dog or one of the trails close by. There’s a lake less than 15 mins away with activities like kayaking and paddle boarding, and quaint villages all around to explore. For the kids (and the grown up kids) there is karaoke, pool, table tennis, darts, and a retro arcade games console. Perhaps you fancy a bbq one evening and sit in the pagoda for a family meal? Maybe you fancy a sauna…go for it! Close to Alton towers should you want a visit there too. Lots of field space for football, tennis, badminton, frisbee right on your door step. The stay here is worth every penny in my opinion and the owner is super lovely who goes all out to make sure your stay also has the personal touch! I can’t recommend this place enough!
