Youngers Cottage in Morpeth is a well-liked holiday rental, praised for its excellent location, dog-friendly policy, and overall cleanliness. Guests appreciate the well-equipped, compact space and the property's proximity to local beauty spots and amenities. Some guests noted the need for a fresh coat of paint and minor maintenance, but these points are overshadowed by the cottage's charm and the thoughtful welcome pack provided on arrival.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and welcoming. However, a few reviews mentioned issues with cleanliness, such as an out-of-date coffee and items left in drawers, which suggests room for improvement in this area.
The location is consistently praised for being excellent, with its proximity to local pubs, walks along the river, and the village of Warkworth. The scenic Northumberland coast is also easily accessible from the cottage.
Guests describe the cottage as cosy and comfortable, though some noted the bedrooms as being a bit spartan and the double bed as small. The comfort of the living areas received positive remarks.
Facilities are generally well-received, with the cottage being well-equipped. However, there are several mentions of the need for maintenance, such as the TV signal issues and the need for a lick of paint, which affects the score in this category.
The welcome pack on arrival was mentioned positively, indicating thoughtfulness by the owners. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

We arrived on the Saturday just after 3pm to a freezing house, the central not on, the wood burner not lite, ( having not used a real fire before didn't feel confident enough about using it) but we bought some logs & after a couple of days used it, as it was Christmas and the shops closed the logs only lasted two session's & that was it!!The coldness of the glorified kitchen with tiled flooring didn't help, ( other than one being by the fire)The wooden staircase were steep, and as there wasn't much in then way of cupboards upstairs anyway, we left our cloths in the luggage downstairs,So ..... sitting in a kitchen with a sofa & two chair's a table with school chairs around it, open shelving with all the pots & pan's to stair at,Black dismal fire place to look at ( an electric fire would have been lovely as an alternative to use, would give a nice glow & warmth to the room)I cooked our Christmas dinner on an electric oven that I wasn't used to, and the last straw was that I burnt my hand on it & there was NO first aid kit!!!We left the property a day and a half early! We will be returning to Warkworth next Christmas but certainly not in this place.

After a slightly difficult start which was recovered by the property owner driving from Newcastle to Warkworth. The house was very cold and she set up the heating and left some comforting goodies for us. All very appreciated. The cottage is small and cosy. Good location, easy parking and a couple of good pubs locally.

This is a small cosy cottage situated close to the river in the centre of idylic Warkworth, with a view of the castle from the bedroom windows. It is half an hour walk from the stunning beach. The cottage is well equipped and furnished. Whilst it is generally very clean, there are some basic maintenance tasks and housekeeping tasks that let it down badly. It is unclear who is managing the cottage and taking which responsibilities and therefore the communications, responses and rectifications have been poor . A list of isues has been mesaged separately to the account (owner/cleaner/managing company ?) but includes isues with towels and linen .
