Our second visit and it didn't disappoint; spotless, comfortable, warm and well equipped with the added bonus of a delicious home-made cake to welcome us. Lovely walks nearby, friendly village/community-minded folk and different options among the 3 pubs and 3 cafes for either food on a plate, a snack or coffee and cake with local corner shop/post office and deli offering anything you've forgotten or wish to treat yourselves. Parking opposite in the public car park worked well (suggest you don't move it over the weekend as several walkers descend on the village) and nearby Bakewell with its independent shops and Monday market is worth a visit, as is Chesterfield and Chatsworth House (a walk in the park if nothing else) with the Edensor Tea Cottage nearby getting a thumbs up too. A very relaxing week for us and our two dogs; can highly recommend.
