Guests generally appreciate the well-maintained holiday park with its clean, spacious units and direct beach access. The park is praised for its serene environment, ideal for long walks and enjoying sunsets. While some minor maintenance issues and limited shop selection were noted, the overall experience is positive, with special mentions of nearby dining options.
Reviews consistently mention the cleanliness of the units, describing them as 'very clean' and 'spotlessly clean'. However, one review noted minor oversights, such as crumbs and a used mug left behind, slightly affecting the score.
The location is highly praised for being right by the river, ideal for walks and sunsets, and close to the beach. Proximity to good dining options, including a Michelin starred restaurant, enhances its appeal.
The units are described as 'large, spacious' and 'very well equipped', providing a comfortable stay. One review mentioned 'efficient heating' for cooler mornings, indicating a comfortable environment.
While the site is described as 'well maintained' with 'excellent amenities', there are comments about the restaurant and bar's limited opening hours and the shop's inadequate stock. Some minor fixture issues were also reported.
There are no mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness of the property based on the available information.

Only 300 yards to the beach where you can explore or just take in the seaside sights. On-site, there is a beachside café and park as well as a small shop (seasonal) and a bar serving food & drinks. Mersea Island is famous for its seafood, oysters and sailing, but has so much more to offer. Walkers, cyclists and water sports lovers will enjoy the location. Close by you’ll find tea rooms, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a butcher, bakery and supermarkets.
Cudmore Grove Country Park is situated a short distance away at East Mersea and is terrific those who prefer green open spaces and quieter spots. Mersea Island is a great base but if you want to get out and about then only 20 minutes away and you can be in the historic city of Colchester or the market town of Maldon, both well worth a visit. Further afield you’ll find both Chelmsford and Southend – why not put them on your bucket list? This property is perfect for guests who like to get out and about, or just pop their feet up!

The caravan was in good condition, very clean and well equipped and I enjoyed my stay. The holiday park itself is well maintained, right by the river and is excellent for long walks and stunning sunsets.

The sandbanks restaurant and bar was hardly ever open, it says on its website it’s open from 9am till 11pm, it was shut most nights by 7pm, they didn’t want to do food, it was too much trouble to even change the menu, it was the lunch menu every day. Nothing in the shop, only stuff for the beach, no selection of food in there, the only good thing about our holiday was we could walk up to Waldegraves and get lovely food and it had a well stocked shop.

A large, spacious unit, on a quiet site. There were one or two issues with fixtures and fittings which didn't spoil our overall enjoyment of the holiday. The owners, who live at some distance were very helpful. Would recommend.
