For a scenic and fun-filled Lake District holiday, stay at this characterful Victorian cottage in vibrant Keswick. With space for up to six guests and dogs welcome, it’s ideal for families and friends looking to visit one of the UK's top outdoor destinations. The location is very convenient, with shops, pubs and restaurants within 100 metres and the banks of Derwentwater just 0.5 miles away – so you can board a launch, hire a motorboat or tackle the scenic 10-mile lakeside walk without needing the car. Keswick has a museum and art gallery (0.5 miles) and a pencil museum (150 metres), while a little out of town is Castlerigg Stone Circle (2 miles), with its dramatic backdrop of Helvellyn and Skiddaw. Keen walkers can set their sights on Skiddaw (5 miles) and Blencathra (7 miles). Wild swimming, pony trekking and climbing are all possible nearby.
On arrival, step through the courtyard entrance and directly into the inviting lounge. Tiles and underfloor heating runs throughout the ground floor. Two comfortable leather sofas sit beside an impressive wood burner, so during the chillier months you can relax with some cosy heat after a day outdoors. Entertainment is taken care of with a Smart TV, and DAB radio. Through the archway, the stylish dining kitchen has elegant quartz worktops and everything you need for meal prep and tasty coffee, along with laundry facilities. Head upstairs and you’ll find three bedrooms, starting with a beautiful king-size room with high ceilings and an en-suite shower room. There’s also a cosy double and a bright twin, both with luxurious linens and quality furnishings. Completing the layout is a family bathroom with shower over the bath.
Outside, spend time in the shared garden with outdoor seating, a large lawn and children's play equipment – a sociable space for perhaps chatting to other guests staying at the complex. There is private parking for two cars and bike storage available on a first-come, first-served basis, by prior arrangement.
