Lovely stay in the Caldbeck pet friendly caravan.This is smaller than a normal caravan but is a perfect size for 2 adults and a dog. As seen on a previous review the sofa and foot stool were stained from previous guests/pets, this wasn’t a problem for us, we just took some throws with us. The only downside we found was that it was very cold underfoot (early January) so slippers are a must.Perfect location on the lake and a 5 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants of Bowness.Will definitely return.

Our caravan appeared lovely on pictures when we booked and when we walked in but after staying for a week there are things that did not make sense for a caravan intended for dogs. Size was perfect but there was a fabric sofa in the living area with footstool, this had a slight smell to it and lots of stains I imagine after having had lots of previous guests/dogs on it. The caravan would have been better with a faux leather sofa so it could be wiped down and some throws provided to protect from dogs. We also thought it was nice the caravan had been built for couples with dogs but the additions in place again did not make sense, the dog sleeping area was in a small alcove by the sofa, neither of my small/medium dogs could fit in. This sleep area is therefore just wasted space unless you have a very small dog and don’t mind them sleeping in essentially a corner cupboard. The other dog areas were just stickers on the wall to signal a hook for leads and a space on the floor for dog bowls, the dog bowl are we did not use as again it was directly in front of the door and did not make sense. We put our bowls under the breakfast bar where they could not get knocked but are accessed easier. Aside from the dog specific aspects to this caravan I rated our stay a little lower than I would like as our caravan was very damp and had mould in areas, this did not affect our holiday but made us feel a little less comfortable in the caravan. Other amenities we usually get on caravan breaks were also not provided which could have improved our stay such as dish soap, extra toilet rolls, shampoo and shower gel miniatures. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would not choose the calbeck caravan again.

Stayed in the caldbeck pet friendly caravan , it was far smaller than we thought and only a 2 seater couch to sit on , very little room in the living area , we were very disappointed and will never book this accommodation again, tried to relocate to another caravan but none available. Staff were very helpful but it caravan totally spoilt our holiday. Excellent location for park and will come again but not in the caldbeck caravan, I was surprised the caldbeck has so many good reviews, it was far too small for us , Beware !
