Within easy reach of the coast. Just 20 minutes from Windermere, these holiday properties are set in lovely countryside and ten acres of landscaped grounds, facing south, with wonderful long distance views to the sea, and to the hills beyond. This large country house is set on a wooded knoll and has been skilfully converted into six spacious holiday houses, which are owned by the Caravan Club Ltd and situated on the edge of one of their immaculately kept small touring caravan parks. The house consists of a two storey cottage wing (W42981), a first floor apartment (W42982), a ground floor garden apartment (W42983), two ground floor apartments (W42984 and W42986) and a first floor balcony apartment (W42985).
There’s a lot to see and do in the immediate area. Close by is beautiful Cartmel Priory and the stately homes at Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall. 3 miles west along the coast is the refined small seaside town of Grange-over-Sands with lots of shops, golf and fishing. The properties make an excellent touring base for the whole of the southern Lake District. Shop 3 miles, pub with food 400 yards.

The apartment itself was lovely but the living room had a stale smell that wasn't very nice. I brought the air freshener into the living room to make it more acceptable but that didn't last long. However the main problem was the people upstairs. The noise was dreadful. Presumably there were wooden floors upstairs, so every footstep could be heard. If they dropped something it sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. I was quite depressed by the third day. It's a shame because we've stayed at the Silverdale apartment before a few times, before the renovation, and that was lovely. We just thought we'd try Arnside for a change.

On arrival, found Outer Patio Door glass was shattered, the remaining pieces held together with clingfilm & duct tape. The door was unusable, detracted from the view and access to the garden was around the side of the building.Cottages.com failed to notify us of this issue in advance.The formation of the bed was not as pictured. Expected 2 single beds with bedside cabinet in between. Found beds zipped together which meant you had to stand on the bed, lean over the Headboards to get access to the window. I now find that if you want singles you have to ask which is contrary to the advertised pic on the website. The fridge was stuck on 6C, no instruction book and no one knew how to adjust. Had to Google instructions myself, seems there is a lock on digital controls.Otherwise very clean apartment.
