Guests found the cottage comfortable, with cosy living areas, comfy beds, and a warm atmosphere once heated. The single-storey layout and walk-in shower were appreciated by those with limited mobility. A few noted the lounge sofa could be more comfortable.

The cottage has a large gravelled yard area providing ample parking, as well as a place for children and dogs to play. The living area is well-furnished with an open fire and easy seating to relax and enjoy quality time together. Bypassed from the A590, the tiny hamlet of Low Newton lies just inside the Lake District National Park. Its peaceful setting beneath the fells of South Lakeland provides the perfect base from which to explore the Lakes and the Cumbrian coast. Low Newton is also well served for good local places to eat and drink. Within walking distance at High Newton is Heft, a gastropub, opened in 2022, that has already earned national recognition, while a mile away is the friendly Royal Oak in Lindale. Three miles away is the village of Cartmel, the foodie capital of the South Lakes, famous for its sticky toffee pudding and the renowned Michelin three-starred restaurant L’Enclume. Also three miles away is Grange-over-Sands, a charming and genteel Victorian seaside town with a range of shops amply meeting the needs of any holidaymaker.
Nearest beach is 12 miles, shops 3 miles, restaurant and pub ½ mile.
Due to the layout of the property, access to the twin bedroom and the shower room are via a bedroom. However the property does have a second external entrance to avoid the need of going through the bedroom.
Owner will accept a maximum of 4 adults an 2 children not 6 adults.
Please note that although the house is all on one level it is NOT configured for wheelchair use.
Only dogs allowed at the property.
Suitable for up to 1 pet

Even though the house is clean and cozy, it is absolutely impossible to sleep due to a terrible smell of old age, wet dog, and dampness. The air is completely musty, and while there are lots of diffusers, they don't work at all. The smell is just bad, and even opening a window doesn't help. I can't tell where it's coming from, whether it's the mattress or the carpets. Also, there is very little natural light in the house; in the morning, even with all the lights on, it is very dark. There is black mold in the bathtub, which is simply unpleasant. There is very little storage space in the kitchen. The guest book doesn't contain any recommendations for local sights or attractions to visit. No welcome pack.

Was a lovely barn conversion, well equipped with everything you could need. Comfy beds, plenty of linen and very clean. Very good base for exploring areas of beauty around. Would happily recommend a stay here for anyone visiting the Lakes.
