Great place for a group catch up. No allocated car parking on site but we didnt see this as an issue as there was a permit for a nearby carpark. We sis get luck with on street parking too. Fab location, great value. Just booked a return visit. Also large garden for being so central, didnt make full use it as it was winter time. Would be good in the summer for kids especially as very secure.

Lovely cottage, very warm and clean. However, does need some care and attention in places. Kitchen is relatively well equipped but needs more trays for the oven. It needs clearly stating freezer etc is in the utility room outside the cottage and the staircases are spiral and steep in places ( nor suitable for people with mobility problems). Bedrooms are very warm and comfortable. Cottage is in a great location and we would return. Parking was not an issue for us but I know Ambleside well - it was half term and busy and some other holiday makers in the surrounding rental cottages did park inconsiderately ( one completely blocked the road and had to be asked to move quite pointedly) so bear this in mind - a parking permit is provided but we didn't use it.
