About this property

This outstanding detached Lakeland barn conversion resides on the shores of Lake Windermere, just 2.3 miles from Windermere and Ambleside. This large property provides contemporary and luxury accommodation for families and friends in this lovely Lake District base with stunning views.

Enter through the hall, boasting chandelier, and into the modern kitchen with island bar and seating for six. From here there is access to the patio through the utility room, handy for storing all your walking boots and waterproofs. There is a formal dining room with seating for 14 guests and centrepiece woodburning stove, perfect for getting everyone together after a day exploring the great outdoors. There is also a ground floor games room to help entertain on those slightly damp days. Three of the four double bedrooms are located on the ground floor also, along with luxury bathroom with jacuzzi bath and a separate office space. Upstairs and down the gallery landing you will arrive at the sitting room with impressive full wall windows and access to the balcony that overlooks Lake Windermere – perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening or to enjoy your morning coffee in style. The spacious master king-size bedroom boasts an en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath and sperate shower. To the first floor you will also find the remaining bedrooms, one double bedroom and the twin bunk room with lake views. There really is room for everyone in this delightful property, surrounded by enclosed lawned gardens and patio with triple coal barbeque to entertain in the warmer months.

Nestled alongside Brockhole Visitor and Adventure Centre, located centrally between Ambleside and Windermere, there is plenty to explore within just a couple of miles of the property. Take a trip to bustling Windermere and sample the many eateries, bars and restaurants or take a trip down to Bowness, home to The World of Beatrix Potter.

Just 6 miles north is the village of Grasmere, home to the famous Grasmere Gingerbread and the resting place of poet William Wordsworth.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
