Riversdale is a stunning four bedroom, four bathroom detached lodge situated beside a peaceful stream. It has been completely re-furbished and modernised in 2019 and is ideal for large families or groups looking for that idyllic getaway. The property comprises a large living room with a wood burner, formal dining area with ample seating, modern fitted kitchen, a utility room and a downstairs cloakroom. On the first floor are four comfortable bedrooms, each with their own en-suite facilities for added privacy.
Before you even step over the threshold you have to pause for a moment to take in the stunning backdrop of the surrounding fells. Outside there is a charming garden with seating area. Riversdale comes with its own parking, so you can leave the car and explore one of the many walks that are available right from your doorstep. Just a few moments away is the popular village of Grasmere with everything from tea shops to fine dining, and of course the famous ‘Grasmere Ginger Bread’, or if you prefer, stay in and relax round the wood burner in the comfortable living room. Either way, you will be refreshed and ready for the next day’s adventure.
The property has a lovely enclosed garden, perfect for relaxing with a drink as the sun goes down. Shop and pub 500 yards, restaurant 200 yards.

Reluctant to give a glowing review because it will mean Riversdale is booked up! We have stayed at The Coach House 3 times before but now the family needs more space, Riversdale was the obvious booking. We really welcomed the secure outside space - perfect for inquisitive terriers - and the large bedrooms with ensuites. The location of Riversdale is perfect for us with plenty of walks direct from the door. There's also the bus stop outside to nip into Ambleside.Food wise we recommend The Grand for a meal with a view, Rothay House Hotel for a decent negroni and Tweedies for a solid pub garden experience. Looking forward to next year already.

Overall a nice cottage but there were some frustrations. All of the windows are locked / painted shut in the living room, making it almost impossible to get any fresh air flow through the room. The bathroom i used was looking very tired. Some of the sealant was missing and some of the tiles looking as if they’re coming off around the side of the bath.Also, although it’s advertised as a detached property ut is in fact connected to another cottage.Also the internet connectivity was very weak in some of the bedrooms.
