This is our 2nd stay here and we are back at Xmas as well can’t wait the owners are lovely and can’t do enough for you . The best thing this time was the red squirrel 🐿️ they came everyday and wasn’t one bit scared would most definitely recommend . If your looking for a friendly local pub the punch bowl is a great place and can highly recommend the Sunday lunch 👍

Its the quietest place, which we absolutely loved! It was right by the river, so we could hear the river flowing. There was a red squirrel which came to the window sill, to eat nuts, aw. Day 1 was a bit cold downstairs with us not knowing maybe how to work the fire/ wasn't strong, but the lovely landlord, asked us the next day himself if it was cozy and thereafter was great. Loved the electric blanket in the bedroom, with view to the castle and river. Bed is small ish if you're used to a massive bed, but ok for few daysKitchen was perfect, fully functioning, lots of crockery, cutlery, very clean everywhere. Its a quiet village with 2 pubs one with food, was nice, a little shopIf you want lots of amenities and people this is not for you, but if you want quiet and peace, river beside you, in the middle of nowhere, its lovely. Landlords (couple) live beside and are friendly, and helpful.Dogs allowed, but maybe helpful for all to know dog's not allowed in the bedroom, we would not have booked had we known that, but otherwise was a perfect stay.We got some wine and board games and had fun!If disabled please don't book, as the stairs are steep, and carry closed slippers for that, wasn't an issue at all for us.Thank you :-), we would love to come back.
