Guests say

Mill Barn receives glowing praise for its idyllic riverside setting, abundant wildlife, and welcoming hosts. Guests consistently highlight the peaceful atmosphere, cleanliness, and comfort of the cottage, with many enjoying easy access to scenic walks and local pubs. The property is described as cosy and well-equipped, with thoughtful touches from the owners. While a few mention minor issues such as tight parking and a small bedroom, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a highly recommended retreat for those seeking tranquillity and natural beauty.

Multiple reviews describe the cottage as 'immaculate', 'spotlessly clean', and 'very clean', with no significant complaints about cleanliness. Only one review mentions the need for some updating, but this does not relate to cleanliness.

The location is repeatedly described as 'idyllic', 'beautiful', and 'perfect' for exploring the Lake District, with direct access to walks, the river, and local amenities. The only minor negative is tight parking, but this does not detract from the overall setting.

Guests frequently mention the cottage is 'cosy', 'comfortable', and 'warm', with special praise for the relaxing atmosphere. A few note the bed is a double and the bedroom is small, but these are minor points for short stays.

The cottage is described as well-equipped, with a modern kitchen and bathroom, good heating, and reliable Wi-Fi. Some mention quirky features like a spiral staircase and electric blankets. One review notes a power cut and another suggests some furniture could be updated, but overall facilities are highly rated.

The hosts are repeatedly praised for being friendly, welcoming, and helpful, often going above and beyond for guests. Some mention thoughtful gestures such as being shown around or invited for drinks, but please note that such gifts or extras are not guaranteed for all guests.
