Guests say

Swallow's Nest in BOWNESS-ON-WINDERMERE is a well-regarded cottage, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location. Guests appreciate the cosy atmosphere, modern amenities, and the property's proximity to local attractions. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests planning return visits.

The cottage generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with several reviews mentioning it being 'very clean' and 'spotless'. However, a few comments about cobwebs and dust suggest there is room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for being close to the town centre and local amenities, with the added benefit of a quiet setting. The steep hill is noted by some as a challenge, particularly for those with mobility issues.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of comfy beds and a cosy atmosphere. The addition of a new sofa was also appreciated, enhancing the overall comfort of the stay.

The cottage is well-equipped, but several reviews mention the need for an iron and ironing board, and some maintenance issues like a loose shower fitment and the need for paint touch-ups. The garden's upkeep and towel quality were also points of feedback.

While guests are generally happy with the amenities provided, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Was nice and warm and very close to town. Enclosed back garden was ideal for dog. Will definitely be back to this one

Spacious, comfortable and warm, it offered everything we needed. We would definitely return! My only small piece of constructive feedback (not negative) would be if we had something to be able to shovel grit from the nearby grit box for the hill as it was rather icy and slippy during our stay - again this would have been a nice to have as I know this is weather dependent and probably would not be needed for most and it certainly did not spoil our our stay.
