Roe Deer Lodge in Windermere is highly praised for its beautiful setting and private, relaxing hot tub. Guests frequently mention the lodge's idyllic location, comfort, and the added luxury of a hot tub as highlights of their stay. While most found the lodge clean and well-equipped, a few noted minor maintenance issues and cleanliness oversights. The surrounding area offers scenic walks and proximity to Lake Windermere, making it a favoured choice for both relaxation and exploration.
Most guests found Roe Deer Lodge to be clean and welcoming. However, a few reviews mentioned instances of overlooked cleanliness, such as a dirty shower tray and presence of dog hairs, which suggests room for improvement in this area.
The lodge's location is consistently lauded for its beauty and convenience, with easy access to local attractions like Lake Windermere and scenic walks. Its idyllic setting contributes to a peaceful and enjoyable stay.
Guests generally regard the lodge as comfortable, with cosy furnishings and a warm atmosphere. Some guests mentioned the beds and sofas being very comfortable, although there were isolated comments about an uncomfortable mattress and noise issues.
The lodge's facilities, especially the hot tub, are frequently highlighted as a highlight. Nonetheless, there are mentions of maintenance issues such as leaks and appliance malfunctions, indicating that while facilities are good, there is scope for better maintenance.

Roe Deer is a modern, comfortable holiday lodge for four people, at Limefitt Park, in the Troutbeck Valley near Windermere in a lovely position overlooking a small woodland, the playing fields and the fells beyond. There is a bright open plan living space, with the kitchen semi- divided from the dining area. A modern leather corner sofa and chairs allow plenty of space to relax and watch the flat screen TV/DVD player. There are two bedrooms, one ensuite and one family bathroom. Roe Deer Lodge has an outside extended decking area, a hot tub and amazing views to enjoy. From here you can imagine watching the sun go down, listening to the birds and perhaps seeing some wildlife. Your lodge is located in one of the loveliest parks in the area – surrounded by the Troutbeck Valley, with beautiful fells and views all around. Roe Deer Lodge is only four miles from Windermere village, a bustling vibrant centre with shops, pubs and cafes; or a mile further on to the cosmopolitan Bowness with steam cruises, restaurants and shops. Back at Limefitt, you have two great local pubs in walking distance, there’s a pub and small shop on site too. You can literally walk from your front door up on the pathways above to the Garburn Pass and onto High Street. Or if you fancy a potter around lovely quiet lanes there is plenty to choose from. On the other side of the valley is Wansfell Pike and over to Ambleside. Driving to Ambleside is around four miles, and Glenridding the village on the shores of Ullswater is ten miles away. Roe Deer is a wonderful setting for your Lake District holiday
The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
