Bird Barn is tucked away in the sought after village of Scottow, in an ideal and central location to explore Norfolk’s amazing coastline and the famous Norfolk Broads. Excellent walking and cycling can be enjoyed from doorstep with designated footpaths, trails and quiet country lanes surrounding the property. Wroxham, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads, is 4½ miles away, with daily boat hire, river trips, riverside restaurants, cafés and shops. Wroxham Barns has a café and stalls offering handmade pottery, crafts, delicatessen, children’s play area and small farm animal petting area. Bewilderwood at Horning is also a must for families. Coltishall is 3 miles away with a selection of shops and riverside pubs. The market town of North Walsham is 4 miles for shops, cafés and restaurants. The Norfolk sandy beaches can be found at Mundesley and Happisburgh (10 miles) and Bacton, Walcott and Sea Palling (12 miles). The popular seaside resort of Cromer is 13½ miles with a promenade, pier, Amazona Zoo, golf course, tennis courts and town centre with shops, cafés and restaurants. Sheringham is 18 miles for a visit to the museum with its lifeboat exhibition, golf course and headquarters of the North Norfolk Steam Railway (which is a must for any steam enthusiast) and the town centre with shops, cafés and restaurants. Blickling Hall (NT), 9 miles and Felbrigg Hall (NT), 15½ miles. There are rspb nature reserves at Hickling Broad, Strumpshaw Fenn and along the North Norfolk Coastline. We had a most enjoyable pre-Christmas stay at Bird Barn, and a lovely welcome from Richard on arrival. The welcome gifts of milk, bread mince pies and water were much appreciated The property was spacious, warm and cosy, and the beautiful Christmas tree and other decorations were lovely. The location was perfect for visiting both the fine city of Norwich and the unspoilt coast of North Norfolk, but , in the spring and summer, would also be great for exploring the Norfolk Broads. We were really impressed by the ease of visiting Norwich by using the excellent Park and Ride service. We would love to return at a different time of year, to enable us to enjoy the garden and spend longer outdoors--longer hours of daylight required !

We absolutely loved our stay at the property. Its location was perfect, offering easy access to both the coast and Norwich, as it's situated fairly equidistant to both.The place was spotless, and we appreciated that it was fully equipped, allowing us to unpack and relax immediately. Our only suggestion for improving comfort would be the addition of some footstools or a corner sofa for ultimate relaxation, and a couple of lamps in the lounge. Other than that, we couldn't fault it.We particularly enjoyed the large, enclosed garden, which was perfect for our dog to run around in. The dedicated dog shower was also a thoughtful touch for when they got a bit mucky.
