Heather Cottage offers a spacious stay with a lovely garden and is well-positioned for exploring Norfolk. Its charm and open fire provide a cosy atmosphere, and the conservatory is a highlight on sunny days. The property is well-equipped, though some guests noted it could benefit from more attention to cleanliness and maintenance.
Several reviews mention a need for a deep clean, with reports of cobwebs, dust, and a general sense of grubbiness. The cleanliness of the cottage has been consistently noted as an area for improvement.
The cottage is praised for its good location, close to attractions like steam trains, the Norfolk broads, and the coast. However, some guests noted road noise as a downside.
Guests found the cottage cosy and the beds clean, but some mentioned uncomfortable mattresses and a single bed with lumpy springs. The open fire was a highlight for comfort during the evenings.
The property is described as well-equipped and spacious, with a lovely garden and conservatory. However, issues with maintenance, such as a heavy front door, broken toilet handle, and safety concerns with the garden fence, have been raised.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owners or caretakers. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Sadly we only stayed two nights out of a paid seven day stay due to family illness. The house was bigger than we thought. Would image it lovely in the Summer in the good sized garden and conservatory. A good location for exploring the area and nearby beaches. Plenty of room for the dogs to run around and play. The ensuite shower we didn't use as it was mouldy and needed a deep clean.Rest of house needed a bit of TLC otherwise a great place to stay. Suggestion: some cleaning products left for each new client would have been welcome.

We have just spent 2 weeks at Heather Cottage. It's a very welcoming, cosy cottage. The open fire was lovely in the evening to come back to. The conservatory was warm on a sunny day and looks out onto the lovely big garden. you can be at the coast in 10 minutes, so it's positioned well. We enjoyed our stay here.
