Please note: These properties have a security deposit of £50 for bookings with pets, £200 for all male/female bookings or £400 if booking Coot (CHN) and Grebe (CHM) together. There is unfenced river edge very close to the property.. ’Still waters, scudding sails, stately swans and blissful peace – the magic of the Broads on your doorstep...’ Making a perfect base for a Broadland holiday, these four lodges are set right on the banks of the River Bure and Daisy Broad, in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. Not only are these properties close to the river, but the owner also owns other riverfront so if guests have a valid fishing licence and bring their own equipment, they can fish easily nearby.
Each lodge has a lawned area beside the river, and are designed in ‘upside-down’ style, enjoying an upstairs sitting-room leading on to a furnished balcony, where guests can relax in style and enjoy the sights and sounds of the river. All the lodges have been furnished and equipped to four star standard.
Day motor launches that accommodate up to 8 passengers are included free of charge with each property and these can be moored alongside the lodges. The motor launch is chargeable during Whitsun and Summer Holidays, direct from the owner at a preferential rate.
The properties are situated in Wroxham which is well known as the ‘Capital of the Broads’ and has a selection of cafes, restaurants and shops within a few minutes’ walk. The wider area is also criss-crossed by numerous footpaths and cycling trails. One of the best ways to enjoy the Broads is on the water by motor launch, or take one of the organised day trips arranged by the neighbouring boatyard. On the water, the beauty of the Broads can be truly experienced with its extensive wildlife (ducks, geese, swans, spoonbills and herons) and its sleepy Broads villages with their pretty flint cottages and attractive churches.
The coast is within easy reach (12 miles) with lovely sandy beaches and a string of villages spreading northwards to the bustling sea towns of Cromer and Sheringham. Alternatively, Norwich is less than 10 miles away with its cathedral, castle, museums, theatres, excellent shops and restaurants. National Trust properties well worth a visit are Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall, both within easy reach. Nearest shops are 500 yards. Moorings for motor launches are outside the property and life jackets are available free of charge. Pet life jackets available on arrival for a refundable £10 deposit. These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 32 guests.

Free WiFi
A complimentary day boat is included in your booking during non-school holiday dates. The dayboat will not be supplied during the Whitsun (end of May) and main Summer School Holidays. Customers can hire a dayboat during these dates, direct from the owners at a 10% discount. At Christmas and New Year, the availability of the dayboat is subject to weather conditions. A mooring for the boat is provided near the property. Please note the neighbouring owner's boatyard can be busy in peak season.

Cottage is lovely and clean and spacious. Only down side sofas and mattress uncomfortable. 2nd time we've been in this place thought they might have been upgraded.

Very quiet peaceful place even with boats big and small coming and going. The house is very roomy and all bedrooms spacious. House clean inside however the veranda had not been swept so quite a bit of bird feaces and lots of cobwebs on the chairs and tables outside and across the metal fence around the veranda- I understand it’s in the middle of the river with lots of wildlife- but would have been nice have it cleaned for when we first arrived. The view from the veranda although quite interesting as you are looking at the boat yard and can see lots going on plus plenty of swans ducks geese herons about - but you cannot see the river - so the pictures in the adverts for this house (Heron) outside- are slightly exaggerated for the views. Also the sofas where very uncomfortable and when you’ve had a long day out and about as Wroxham is really central and you can get to most places of interest and to the coast in good time - which is why we love Wroxham- it would have been lovely to come back to comfortable sofas- the mattresses where quite lumpy too. We also thought it would be helpful if the areas around the house could have been swept a couple of days over the week especially first day - as again lots of bird faeces and if you have children and wanted to sit or walk round the houses you would have to take care they don’t step into it. But — having said all this we still really enjoyed our stay and the staff were very helpful and friendly and having the motor boat along side to use as and whenever you wanted too was really fun. In fact we enjoyed it so much have already booked for the Mallard next year - but please update the sofas!
