This cosy holiday retreat is set in beautiful countryside and it has been cleverly converted to offer the perfect location to relax and unwind in or explore the many attractions in the area. Adjoining the owner’s home with its fully enclosed pretty garden, it is set in the village of Cantley just 3 miles from the riverside inns in the village of Reedham, where boats can be hired and visitors can enjoy a spot of fishing, or simply watch the waterborne world go by. Cyclists and walkers will love to explore the many surrounding quiet country lanes and nearby Breydon Water is a paradise for bird watchers. Acle, a delightful market town, is 5 miles away and Winterton’s glorious beach, with its 6-mile walk offers seal watching. Cromer for its famous seafood and Wroxham (the capital of the Broads) are all a short drive. Catch the train from the nearby station or drive to the medieval city of Norwich, with its fine shopping, cathedral and castle. Golf, fishing and rspb reserves are within easy reach. Shop 3 miles pub serving food ½ mile.

Too dark for us not enough windows. Stairs very steep. Cottage clean and everything you need. Just not for us sorry.

Location is great if you have a car. We don't drive so if arriving by train with cases, it is definitely a good mile to walk. Also, if you don't drive there are no local shops in the vicinity & just 2 pubs. One is near the train station & the other, The Cantley ****, is a walk across a bridleway which is at the end of the property drive. This is a must to go to. Food is excellent & staff super friendly. The Old Stable was comfortable and has everything you should need. Large bedroom & living/dining room. Decent sized bathroom with shower over bath. Kitchen large & well equipped. There are 3 steps down when you enter the property & as described, stairs are steep/narrow to get up to bedroom & bathroom. Nice to have chickens, geese, ducks & horses on your doorstep & to welcome you on your way out or in. Definitely recommend staying here and the area for a holiday.
