There is a grey fitted kitchen with a hob, microwave, toaster and kettle to assist with your self-catering desires. Soak in the last glimpse of the sun in the front garden where you can lounge on the outdoor furniture or savour a moment of relaxation in the indulgent hot tub. As the sky grows dark, head into the warmth where a gas fire gently heats the space and you can prepare for a night's embrace in the contemporary shower room. The attractive village of Staindrop is home to the historic landmark of Raby Castle, which is renowned as the grandest in the whole country. The colossal building makes a great day out, with a 200 acre deer park whilst here. The village of Staindrop hosts an array of shops, pubs and cafes along the village green area. The market town of Barnard Castle is nearby with its wonderful castle and the Bowes Museum for an insight into the town's past.

The cabins are beautifully fitted out with everything you need including a privately positioned wood fired hot tub. Love sitting out on the porch in the evening just listening to the wildlife and nearby river. To top it all, the hosts Steven & Mary are simply the best, really make you feel welcome and at home and could not be more friendly or helpful. We love coming to Badgers Sett and would not think of going anywhere else for a break.

5* doesnât even do it justice. Mary and Steven are fabulous hosts and couldnât do enough for us. We were greeted by Mary who showed us around the lodge and left us some Prosecco and biscuits which went down a treat. We were also fortunate enough to see the northern lights during our stay.
