Nice welcome from the owner and everything we needed for a couple of nights away in County Durham. Space is tight and access to the rear is only through the house but its manageable even with three dogs and atrocious weather. Some great walks in the area which is rich in history and not too far from A1 and A66. Good Fish and Chip Shop in nearby Barnard Castle,

It's quietly situated, beautifully decorated with many thoughtful touches, and we especially appreciated meeting the friendly owner Jo who pooped round to make sure we were OK. Superbly located to visit all the delights of the area - we loved Durham with its cobbled streets, magnificent cathedral and castle, Raby Castle in the village itself and just a short walk from the cottage, the Bowes museum which is so extensive that we went back twice, and High Force waterfall which is stunning. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely relaxing week!
