This was a gem of a find, beautiful, spacious and well equipment for our short break.Upon arrival, we was met by Kirsty, she was warm and welcoming and gave us a tour of the property, along with some advice on the local area. The view from the upstairs sitting room was stunning. The bedrooms very spacious and the fresh roses were beautiful, and I loved the addition of fresh plants in the other rooms, but most importantly everywhere was spotlessly clean and well maintained. We used the bbq on the patio area, which was a quaint enclosed area and made for a lovely evening. This was our base to visit Beamish Museum (which took us 2 days to get round), Durham and The Angel of the North, all within a 30 minute drive with amazing views. Before we returned home went via the Locomotion museum nearby, as recommended by Paul, our lovely host, we only had a couple of hours there but could quite easily have spent a few hours more.We would definitely recommend this cottage, you do not need to look any further, you won't be disappointed. Kirsty and Paul are lovely hosts and have got this cottage just right for a perfect stay.
