Downstairs you will find a charming open plan living area featuring a woodburning stove, a well-equipped kitchen and a dining table, perfect for a cosy night in after exploring the wonderful surrounding area. To the rear of the property is a lovely enclosed garden with furniture, ideal for alfresco dining with a glass of wine in the evening. A short walk from the cottage, past the pretty village green, brings you to a fantastic traditional pub, The Four Alls, serving home-cooked food and cask ales. A short drive brings you to Barnard Castle, with its bustling high street full of quaint shops, pubs and cafes, as well as the impressive Bowes Museum. Further afield you will find the historic Yorkshire market town of Richmond, great for strolling along the cobbled high street and castle walls. Nearby attractions also include The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, the medieval Raby Castle with deer park and the magnificent waterfalls at High Force. A day out at Durham is also not to be missed, with its majestic cathedral standing high above the River Wear.
