Step into the sleek and stylish kitchen and there is everything needed to whip up delicious food for the holiday party with a cool and contemporary dining area where guests can pull up a chair, pour themselves a drink and enjoy long and leisurely meals together. Rock Lodge enjoys a superb setting with simply sublime sea views so the gardens at the property are the ideal place to sit off a while; children and any pets can run around safely while the grown-ups can chill out on the patio area. On a sunny day, there are few places better than this to be.

At bedtime, guests can choose from three bedrooms; a super-king-size, a double or a twin; with captivating sea views and TVs to two of the rooms, these are calming and relaxing spaces where you can chill out and recharge your batteries. This is what holidays are all about. The bathrooms are immaculately presented and a refreshing shower or a soak in the bath are equally enjoyable and will leave you refreshed and raring to go. Getting out and about exploring is a must and the bustling coastal village of Alnmouth is on the doorstep which includes a good selection of shops, eateries, a golf course and miles of sandy beaches.

Jump in the car for visits to the scenic town of Alnwick, famous for its castle and gardens, or drive a little further to attractions such as Hadrian’s Wall, Howick Hall and Gardens, Dunstanburgh Castle and Northumberland Country Zoo. Take a boat trip over to the Farne Islands where you might catch sight of an unusual bird or seal. If you love wildlife, then you’ve come to the right place with RSPB reserves at Annstead Dunes and Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre. Activities worth having a go at while you’re here include golf at Alnmouth Golf Club, horse-riding at Slate Hall Riding Centre, surfing at Bamburgh Castle Beach and sailing at Beadnell Sailing Club.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Alnmouth is well situated for exploring Northumberland.
