No smoking.. 1¾ Denwick View is a charming single-storey annex to the owners’ home situated in a quiet, mature residential area on the fringe of the historic market town of Alnwick. The property has been immaculately presented and tastefully furnished throughout with much thought, care and attention to detail. There are patio doors from the living room and bedroom which lead to the rear garden, and for those cooler evenings there is a cosy, modern electric fire in the living room. The lovely private sitting-out area looking onto the shared garden is south-facing, and is a tranquil spot to dine al fresco and listen to the birdsong.
The cottage owners who live adjacent have an ‘open studio’ where they create pictures, wishsticks, coasters, angels, eco-planters and suncatchers using Angelina Fibres and merino wool tops. Guests are not only able to visit the studio, but can also arrange mini workshops during their stay to be guided in the creation of their own unique masterpiece, which they will be able to take away encased in glass. Mini workshops can be arranged most days, including evenings, so as to not interrupt their other adventures whilst on holiday. There is also a small selection of eight other local artisans work.
Perfectly located in Alnwick, you will find a wide array of amenities including a cinema/playhouse, restaurants, independent shops and a variety of pubs. Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts – hence the quirky reference to this property’s name!) is a popular visitor attraction. Alnwick Gardens, a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, including a grand cascade waterfall and poison garden where guests can dine in the restaurant of the largest tree house in Europe, is within a very short drive away. The train station that services Alnmouth is only 4 miles away giving easy access to explore further afield.
1¾ Denwick View is an excellent choice for those couples seeking a homely base from which to explore the beautiful 20 mile stretch of Heritage Coastline designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the east and the wild and lonely expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills to the west. A beautiful cottage on a quiet estate. Everything you need is provided. Lovely garden. The owners Ivor and Becky are lovely people. They provided with the best welcome pack ever. They are really helpful but not intrusive. Had a quick look round their workshop and bought some lovely items. Alnwick itself is lovely and has free parking parking disc £1 ). The beaches nearby are beautiful. Would definitely return and recommend it to others *****

Excellent. The cottage wanted for nothing, everything you could possibly wish for. A lovely welcome pack with lots of extras. Attention to every detail and much more besides. Ivor and Becky are very thoughtful, kind and friendly hosts. They provided lots of very useful local information and suggestions. An added bonus was a visit to their wonderful workshop studio. Also, we were very lucky with the weather and able to enjoy our time spent in the garden and patios after our days out.
