This charming stone-built, period holiday cottage dates back to the 1840’s and is situated in the heart of the village, midway between Craster and Alnwick. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is perfectly located for exploring this unspoilt county and set on a Heritage Coastal route with some of the finest beaches in Britain. Within 1 mile from a secluded sandy bay and coastal walks. Nearby is the village post office. Alnwick, 4 miles, with the castle used as ‘Hogwarts’ in the Harry Potter films. Bottle of wine on arrival. Shop 200 yards, pub 1½ miles, restaurant 2 miles.

Excellent location and the host provided a wealth of information for local sights and amenities, and was available to answer any questions we had. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped but not made for anyone over 6ft! We missed a larger inside dining table for the days it was too rainy to sit outside and some of the kitchen cupboards were a bit cobwebby but overall we enjoyed our stay at Alncroft.
