This unique secluded cottage is set to the end of the owners’ working farm on the edge of Eglingham, a pretty little country village with a friendly pub, and 7 miles north-west of the Ducal town of Alnwick.
Renovated fully in 2023, retaining character and charm with high cathedral ceilings, visitors will be delighted by the attention to detail throughout the cottage. With luxury linens and towels, it truly is a special place to stay. Enjoy total relaxation on the south-westerly stone terrace soaking in the far-reaching views and watch the sun set with a cool glass of wine in the evening.
Just off the beaten track, Coalburn Cottage is a nature lover’s ideal retreat, with an abundance of wildlife all around the cottage; watch out for deer, hares, and plenty of birdlife. Straight out of the door you are on a public bridleway with footpaths crossing in the immediate vicinity where there are a variety of walks for all abilities, with cycle trails for the keen cyclists.
With easy access from the cottage to all the top tourist attractions, including Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Alnwick with its cobbled streets is steeped in history. It is a lovely day out and the beautiful heritage coast is only 11 miles with stunning beaches stretching for miles to the Scottish Border in Berwick. The market town of Wooler is only 10 miles with shops and restaurants. Wherever you decide to explore in this stunning and diverse county, you will be guaranteed a warm welcome from the locals. Coalburn Cottage is a welcoming haven to return to.

Absolutely amazing, we have already looked to book again but no availability but we will keep trying, we have stayed in Northumberland loads of time but Coalburn Cottage far out wayed anywhere we have stayed at before.

Fantastic, 10* property, the cleanest and most comfortable I have EVER stayed in! The ultimate ‘get away from it all’ tranquility, in style, relaxation and luxury! There is a lovely site, at the top of the track, with alpacas, pony, sheep and cob, with a lovely owner (not this cottage owner)! Plenty of bird life and deer in the grounds and adjacent fields. The owners were contactable and there was excellent WiFi and phone signal, despite the remoteness. We will certainly return, as will family who visited and who also loved the place, thank you!

Coalburn Cottage is the best self-catered accommodation I’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful location, so private and peaceful, yet not too far from Alnwick for all your essentials. The cottage has everything you could ever need and is immaculate! They have thought of everything to create the perfect home away from home. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for the perfect retreat away.
