Number 1 in Alnwick is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its comfort, spaciousness, and well-equipped kitchen. Its proximity to local amenities and attractions is appreciated, although the steep hill location may challenge some. Guests enjoy the property's character and find it generally clean, though there are isolated mentions of dampness and cobwebs. The enclosed garden is a hit with pet owners.
The property is generally found to be clean and well-maintained, with several guests noting its cleanliness. However, there are a few mentions of cobwebs, dog food remnants, and a damp issue, which slightly lower the score.
The location is highly praised for its convenience to Alnwick's town centre and local supermarkets, with most attractions within a short walking distance. The steep hill is noted, which may be a consideration for those with mobility issues.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the property spacious, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, some guests mention the property being cold at times and the lounge being unusable for an asthmatic guest due to dampness.
The property is generally well-equipped, especially the kitchen, but there are comments about the lack of a tumble dryer and insufficient starter pack for the log burner. Some minor maintenance issues like a broken hand wash dispenser were also reported.
While the reviews reflect a well-stocked kitchen with basic condiments and cleaning materials, there are no specific mentions of gifts or extra thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

We had a lovely stay at No. 1 and would love to return. Walking and short driving distance from lots of nice eateries, shops and tourist attractions.

The cottage was damp and mouldy, my husband suffers from asthma and we could not use the lounge because it made him breathless and wheezy and we cut our holiday short. We tried to complain but our complaints were initially ignored. We sent a complaint through resolver and eventually heard back from them saying that because we didn’t report it during our holiday (which we did) there was nothing they could do. Very disappointed and frustrated.
