Guests say

Oswald's Rest is a well-equipped, homely cottage praised for its tranquility, impressive views of Bamburgh Castle, and proximity to local attractions. Guests enjoyed the peaceful farm setting and the convenience for exploring Northumberland's East coast. The property provides a comfortable and clean environment, with a few minor issues addressed by a helpful owner.

The cottage is generally described as clean and comfortable. However, one review mentioned a dirty shower soap tray and wet washing left in the machine, suggesting occasional oversights in cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views, proximity to Bamburgh and Seahouses, and the opportunity for lovely walks. The peaceful farm setting adds to the charm, despite the poor condition of the access road.

Guests found the cottage to be comfortable, with a warm atmosphere, tasteful decoration, and a lovely big bathroom. The provision of amenities like tea, coffee, and milk was appreciated.

The cottage is well-equipped with a good kitchen and smart TV. However, there were issues with oversized dinner plates not fitting in the dishwasher, a WFI breakdown, and an unresponsive agency, indicating some room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

While guests appreciated the amenities provided, such as tea, coffee, and milk, there is no mention of gifts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness based on the provision of gifts, and the score is set to null.

Excellent cottage. Well equipped, warm and tastefully decorated with a goid kitchen and a lovely big bathroom. We loved it and it is clear that it has been drsigned with great care and heart. We loved the lication, on a farm with countryside views but we were able to walk to the beach across the fields and other times, we took the car. The beach was only a few minutes away. Seahorses is very close and we were able to do a little bit of shopping etc there. The cottage location is a great base for getting to local places ( & further if you wish) and it was lovely to return to a cosy warm and inviting space at the end of each day. We would 100% recommend and return.

Disappointed on arrival to find wet washing in Washing machine, no one came to retrieve it so we were forced to dry it ourselves. Dinner plates too large to enable washing in dish washer, thus needing hand washing.Shower soap try dirtyWhen phoning owner for assistance with WFI breakdown, no response. However it was fixed. Would have appreciated a call or text Nicely appointed cottage in a good area for exploring East coast Northumberland

The cottage is fine for two people, well equipped but as it is on a farm, there are no immediate facilities ie shop, bar etc. It is a 35 minute walk to bamburgh, and about the same for seahouses that is mainly over fields and rough tracks, but both are well worth a visit, just take comfortable walking shoes. We did a boat trip from seahouses to farne islands well worth it and definitely visit Bamburgh castle it is very impressive.
