This cottage is in a lovely location for anyone who wants to get away from it all. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. However, it is very remote and local shops, pubs etc are a drive away, there is nothing within walking distance. The cottage is very dated, with furniture and equipment very worn and could do with updating/replacing. The cleanliness of the property leaves a lot to be desired, while the cobwebs might add some character to the age of the property, the yellow bath, stained carpets, grubby skirting boards and electrical fittings and chewing gum grey bath towels and bedding aren't what we expected. The hairdryer was just full of dust and dander. When we tried to hoover and mop before leaving, as we like to make sure we leave a place clean, the hoovered smelt like vomit and was spreading hair from the brush head and the mop bearly had any cleaning head on it, what it did have was dirty. What we planned as a relaxing weekend in front of the log burning fire watching TV, was spent driving out to various places to avoid sitting in the cottage.

This was my second stay (which probably says it all). Lovely welcome from John and Liz, lovely location, warm, cozy and comfortable. Love the wildlife cameras wired into tv - owls, badgers, deer, rabbits were my regular viewing! If you’re looking for a dark sky viewing, look no further. Will definitely be back again.
