Orchid Lodge is highly praised for its cleanliness, modern amenities, and tranquil setting. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome packs and the property's dog-friendly nature. While the lack of a direct footpath to Saltburn and intermittent Wi-Fi are noted, the lodge's comfort, well-maintained grounds, and proximity to local attractions make it a favoured choice for a peaceful getaway.
Guests consistently commend the lodge for its spotless condition and cleanliness, which is a top priority for many. The attention to detail in maintaining a clean environment contributes to the overall positive experience.
The lodge's location is appreciated for its peacefulness and proximity to local sights, though some guests mention the lack of a direct footpath to Saltburn and the need for a car to access nearby amenities.
The lodge is frequently described as comfortable, with a particularly comfortable bed and well-equipped living spaces. The serene surroundings contribute to a restful stay, despite occasional noise from nearby events.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a fully equipped kitchen and great amenities. However, some guests experienced issues with Wi-Fi and hot water, which were promptly addressed. The suggestion of adding a hot tub indicates room for improvement.
The welcome packs, including treats for both humans and dogs, are frequently mentioned and appreciated, indicating a high level of thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Perfectly clean, easy to keep warm, everything needed for an stress-free holiday. Just one issue in the bathroom, there is what looks like a patch of black mould on the ceiling. Other than that, everything was spot-on.

Immaculately clean and well equipped. Very easy to book through the Sykes website as usual and precise instructions regarding travel and arrival from both Sykes and Rushpool Lodges. Very quiet and relaxing surroundings with some lovely walks around the estate. All in all, a very enjoyable week.

But my issues were the location as it is not near the beach it is not near anything. If youâve got a car itâs fine but due to a serious accident Iâm unable to drive so I came by train. Itâs a long story but it was very upsetting when I saw the hill Iâd have to go up to get there because I knew it was impossible for me . My sister and brother in law had to drive over from Leeds as I was stranded I couldnât get a dog friendly taxi I couldnât get a bus it was a complete nightmare with a heavy case my dog and only one properly working arm . I only stayed there for 2 nights as I felt completely isolated so it turned into an expensive holiday. I moved to another place that was next to the beach in Redcar which was perfect for us . If you want a lovely lodge in a peaceful location listening to the sounds of nature yes itâs perfect but if you havenât got a car I wouldnât recommend it .
