The Solway Coast which is only 4 miles away has a lovely beach with long walks with paths along the coast great for dog walkers then relax and grab an ice cream or head too the local pub for a meal in allonby or visit silloth and Mayport two off the harbour towns on the solway coast with coffee shops, cafés, pubs takeaways and supermarkets or venture into the north lakes keswick only 14 miles away which has lots outdoor stuff to do with two lakes bassethwaite and derwent water in the area great for water activities paddle boarding ,swimming ,canoeing this property is next door too other cottages great for big family/friends get togethers. These include Halls Bank Farm ref 1319 sleeps 8 , Berwyn Bank ref 15825 sleeps 12 , Beckside (ref 17926) sleeps 2 all on the same site . The market town of Cockermouth is 6 miles, Keswick 14 miles and Buttermere 12 miles. Bassenthwaite Lake, 6 miles. Private fishing on the River Ellen for salmon and trout, 1 mile (free of charge). Golf and horse riding nearby. Beach 4 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub ½ mile.

Excellent, spacious cottage with hot tub waiting to go on our arrival. Very comfy bed, fully equipped kitchen, large garden with countryside views and parking right outside. Nearby Cockermouth with excellent butchers and fishmongers and easy drive to Keswick. My partner absolutely loved the free private hour a day at the pool/sauna. We will be back.

A beautiful cottage which was much larger than we expected and well equipped. The private use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna was a great facility and immaculately maintained.
