Guests say

Seventeen Ten is a beautifully presented cottage in a tranquil rural hamlet near Carlisle, offering guests a peaceful retreat surrounded by stunning countryside. Visitors consistently praise its immaculate cleanliness, cosy and comfortable interiors, and well-equipped kitchen. The location is ideal for walking, exploring Hadrian’s Wall, and enjoying local pubs, though a car is recommended due to its remote setting. The host, Julie, is frequently mentioned for her warm welcome and helpfulness. Occasional minor issues with internet connectivity are noted, but these do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience.

Guests repeatedly describe the cottage as spotlessly clean and well maintained, with fresh bedding and towels. No negative comments regarding cleanliness were found.

The peaceful, rural location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful surroundings, and proximity to walks and local attractions. Some mention the remoteness and need for a car, but this is generally seen as a positive for those seeking relaxation.

Reviews highlight the cottage’s comfort, cosy atmosphere, and high-quality furnishings. The bed is described as exceptionally comfortable, and the log burner adds to the homely feel. Steep stairs are mentioned as a potential issue for some, but overall comfort is rated very highly.

The cottage is well equipped with everything needed for a pleasant stay, including a well-stocked kitchen, utility room, and log burner. Occasional comments note slow or intermittent WiFi and the absence of a BBQ, but these are minor points.

Many guests mention a warm welcome from the host and thoughtful gifts such as wine, cheese, or welcome packs. While these gestures are appreciated, please note that gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

The cottage is in a lovely location in a small hamlet, which can be difficult to get to. It is near Hadrian's Wall and there are many good local walks, as well as interesting museums and historical sites.
