The farmhouse-style dining table is perfect for enjoying all your favourite meals which you can cook in the fully equipped and attractively designed kitchen. There’s a choice of two cosy and relaxing bedrooms, each with floor-to-ceiling windows: a double room and an en-suite king-size room, along with a stylish family bathroom. French doors lead from the living area onto the raised decked space with outdoor furniture which makes a pleasant spot for taking in the views and watching the lambs in spring.

The picturesque village of Caldbeck is nearby (2 miles) and has some welcoming pubs and cafes as well as a duck pond and cricket club. There are plenty of walks from the lodge, with the peaks of High Pike (8.5 miles) and Carrock Fell (7.5 miles) offering magnificent views for more experienced walkers, or you can stroll along the Howk to the ruins of a bobbin mill (3 miles). Heading further into the Lake District you can explore Bassenthwaite Lake (9 miles) and Keswick on the shores of Derwentwater (15.5 miles).
