This apartment is a welcoming year-round base.

The small village of Cark in Cartmel lies just a couple of miles from its more famous neighbour, Cartmel, in lovely Lakeland countryside. Holker Hall house and deer park are just a short walk from Cark. Cartmel is renowned for its racecourse, and the town is well served with a selection of shops, traditional pubs and a Michelin starred restaurant. The only slight disappointment for us was the limited options for veggie/vegan food in Cark & Flookburgh. The Engine Inn is very nearby but no longer serves food. However the apartment is well-equipped for self-catering so it wasn't really a problem. Lots of lovely walks straight from the door, including saltmarsh, hills, extensive woods and the open deer park at Holker Hall.

Was stayng alone but would have easily been big enough for 4 people to stay comfortably. Had all amenities, cutlery, crockery, everything you could need to self cater. The tea, milk and biscuits were a lovely touch. Utility room on entering property was perfect for keeping walking boots, coats and letting clothes dry off. Living room was spacious and comfortable and small reading area in corner too. It was also very clean, especially considering dogs are allowed in the property. It was a lovely peaceful location. Plenty of walks from the property but also only 20-30mins to lakes. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend
