Rest and recharge in this characterful cottage in the heart of Cartmel. The property sleeps six guests and has a choice of social spaces, including a private Garden Spa room. There are some beautiful walks branching away from the village, including to the summit of Hampsfell. Nearby days out include Lake Windermere (7 miles) and Holker Hall (2.5 miles).

This welcoming cottage is full of charm, with wonderful exposed stone walls and beams throughout. Enter via the central hall, which doubles as a cosy snug area. From here, move into the lounge/diner, where you’ll find an array of comfortable seating and a Smart TV for enjoying movie nights together. At one end is a dining area for hosting dinner parties and family gatherings, and there’s also a handy utility area and WC. The stylish kitchen is a joy to cook in, with a Rangemaster oven and all the equipment needed to rustle up delicious meals. Upstairs, two inviting bedrooms await – one of which has an en-suite shower room – along with a sleek shared shower room. The remaining double bedroom is set in the eaves on the second floor. Outside, an enclosed patio garden awaits, with furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining. There’s also a private Garden Spa room with a hydro massage tub, wood burner and Smart TV – the perfect place to chill out after a day of exploring.

Take a stroll around the village, popping into the artisan shops and cafes, or perhaps enjoy a wander along the picturesque river that meanders through the village. Cartmel is a real haven for foodies, with a great range of fine-dining restaurants and traditional inns showcasing local produce. Just 2 miles away is the Edwardian seaside resort of Grange-over-Sands, with its long promenade with panoramic views and pretty ornamental gardens.
