The Old Stables is a well-received cottage, praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and beautiful surroundings. Guests enjoyed the powerful showers, well-equipped kitchen, and the peaceful, quiet location ideal for nature lovers. The spacious accommodation is suitable for families and dogs, with a cosy wood burning stove adding to the charm. Some minor issues were noted, but overall, guests had positive experiences and many would return.
Most guests found the property extremely clean and welcoming. There was a single mention of cleaning in the bathroom that could have been better, but this seems to be an isolated incident rather than a common concern.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness and proximity to nature, with easy access to the Lakes, Dales, and local villages. Some guests found the property difficult to find due to incorrect postcode information, but overall, the location was considered ideal for a quiet getaway.
Guests consistently mentioned the property's comfort, highlighting the powerful showers, underfloor heating, and spacious living areas. The presence of a wood burner and the overall homely feel contributed to a high level of comfort.
The facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen and powerful showers, were appreciated. However, some guests noted issues with maintenance such as blunt kitchen knives, a tap issue, and a desire for better outdoor furniture. The presence of a wood burner and good Wi-Fi were positives.

Kirkby Lonsdale 3 miles. The thoughtful conversion of an old stone-built barn and stable block, dating back to 1746, has resulted in this wonderful detached property of much character. Situated in a pretty position next to Fleshbeck stream in the scattered hamlet of Mansergh, The Old Stables enjoys views over a wooded dell, teeming with bluebells in the spring, and even the occasional deer! Upside down to take advantage of both the pretty views and the many original exposed timbers, the conversion has been carried out to the highest possible standard including solid oak floors upstairs, and underfloor heating throughout. The open plan living area has French doors out onto a small balcony, overlooking the garden area and woods. A magnificent conversion, warm and welcoming, ideal for any time of the year. Note: This cottage is next to Refs. 916 and 9985, and a short distance from Ref. 10255, together they sleep 22.
Mid way between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District and in the heart of the Lune Valley, the attractive market town of Kirkby Lonsdale makes an excellent spot for a family vacation. Mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, this lovely town holds a 13th Century market charter, a tradition that still continues every Thursday. Market day is an ideal opportunity for visitors to explore the variety of distinctive shops in the town or the many 17th and 18th Century buildings that can be seen throughout the settlement. As a favourite haunt of the artist Turner, the Lune Valley is home to the medieval ‘Devil's Bridge', which can still be seen spanning the river. Throughout the area there are many quiet country lanes which are ideal for exploring by car, bike, or even on horseback, and the surrounding countryside provides great facilities for tennis, riding, fishing and a variety of riverside and country walks.
