  This is our second visit for our family of 4 and our dog Willow.

  I's a fantastic base for access to Bakewell and Chatsworth House, which is a short drive away. There are walks right on the doorstep with access to the woods which our dog Willow thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely eateries in the village, our favourite is The Prince of Wales serving amazing food which we have visited on both trips. The owners were amazing! I we needed anything they were happy to help without hesitation. Everything you need from a holiday rental is here and much more. All modern appliances. The washing facilities were great after a muddy walk. We found operating the TV a bit tricky, but we found some board games that kept us entertained and with teenagers it's not always easy. The sofa has been replaced since our last visit with a stunning piece that was so comfortable and complimented the stunning decor. At times, the outside steps were tricky but we used the footpath by the main road and that was fine. The garden does have open access but on our last visit we used a tether and Willow sat with us and enjoyed watching people walk by. As time goes by, I wonder if we'll be able to book in as the property becomes popular!. We don't normally place reviews but felt this time we must, because it's a gorgeous property.   A great weekend break in The Dairy.

  Terrific location and a very well-equipped and well maintained property. Would certainly recommend. A few minor points for the owners (we have had a holiday rental on various sites for 25 years). Price seemed to be top-end at £1900 and the other properties at Lowfield Farm were not occupied, so flexible pricing might help with occupancy numbers. A Book of the House would be a really useful addition with how everything works, local facilities, public footpaths etc in one place. The laminates were ok, but not comprehensive e.g. told to switch off hot tub, but not where (we worked it out, but better written down). How to switch off outside lights ? On a timer, but on all night ? Couldn't find oven-gloves ? Sure they must have been there somewhere. Missed the instruction to strip bed linen and place in bathroom - laundry bags would help, and save servicing time. Wooden garden furniture showing its age. Hope this helps. We intend to be back as it was a memorable place to visit, and Youlgrave is a great village to hang out in.

  A lovely comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage with everything you need for self catering.

  Good selection of TV options including Prime. Lovely posh chocolates and posh treats for dogs! Thank you. The shower is temperamental, it turns freezing cold or scolding hot for no reason. Personally we found the cottage noisy due to the road where it is situated. It really is very busy, constant flow of traffic from 6 am until 7 in the evening. The master bedroom would benefit from secondary glazing similar to the second bedroom. Parking was difficult, there didn't seem to be enough B parking bays for the amount of B parking permits! When we arrived we unloaded outside the cottage but it was quite dangerous due to being on a bend on the busy road. There is free parking for 2 hours 8am - 8pm behind the church, so overnight we managed to park there a few times and move the car at 10am. Word of warning.. a few people got tickets so they do check! Overall we enjoyed our stay and enjoyed Bakewell and the surrounding areas. Thank you.

  Knoll Cottage is a wonderful base for a holiday in the Peak District.

  It’s comfortable and well-equipped with everything you need and super close to the quaint shops, friendly pubs and pudding shops of Bakewell. The area is brilliant for walks and really close to all the national park attractions. We had absolutely no issue with on street permit parking nearby and enjoyed the large dining room and separate sitting room. The bedrooms are spacious and it was fantastic to have so many useful little touches like dishwasher tablets, plenty of tea towels and bath towels and some lovely chocolates and quality coffee. There is a small enclosed yard perfect for drying off the dog which I’m sure would be a lovely breakfast spot in the warmer months. We were there over New Year and the cottage was warm and cosy. Our only niggle was a temperamental shower which is affected by poor water pressure. It’s fine if you don’t have any other taps on or flush the toilet!

  Monsal cottage is exactly what we needed.

  It’s a lovely clean cottage with everything we wanted right there. It was very clean and very warm. We stayed with our dogs for a week and had a lovely time. The only negative comment I have (and it is not the site owners fault) but some people who stay with dogs did not tidy up after their dog. There is a lively enclosed area to let your dog out for a wee and poo but some people clearly don’t have standards and don’t clean up after their dogs. I tried to tidy up some of the other poos myself but there was too many. Do these people not realise that eventually the site owners will stop dogs staying there??? It’s not difficult!!!!! Anyway that is a comment on people not the site owners. We loved our stay. We certainly loved the little gang of goats that greeted us most days on the site. And the site owners were very helpful with any of our additional needs. Highly recommend.
