Monsal Cottage is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, upgraded bathroom with a fantastic shower, and peaceful setting. Guests appreciate the dog-friendly environment, comfortable furnishings, and the warmth of the cottage. The picturesque views and proximity to local attractions add to its charm. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with guests enjoying the farm setting and looking forward to returning.
The cottage consistently receives compliments for its cleanliness, with guests describing it as warm and clean. The presence of an electric zapper to handle flies on the farm indicates proactive measures to maintain cleanliness.
The location is highly regarded for its superb views and peaceful setting on a working farm. It is within driving distance of main attractions and walking distance of Bakewell, despite a steep hill. The farm's smell is mentioned, but it does not detract significantly from the location's appeal.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a particularly comfy sofa and a warm atmosphere. Some guests mention the bed being on the hard side and the settee being low, which suggests room for improvement in comfort for some visitors.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a special mention of the upgraded bathroom and shower. However, minor points such as missing sink plugs and the need for oven gloves indicate that some maintenance is required to enhance the facilities further.
