High on the hill, this delightful cottage has far reaching panoramic views. Bikes can be hired at Middleton Top s restored engine house just over a mile away for the High Peak Trail. Walks/cycle trails go to Black Rocks, Carsington, Bonsall and the Cromford Canal, all within 6 miles. Middleton village is home to the National Stone Centre, Derbyshire Eco Centre, and two good pubs. The historic market town of Wirksworth is just a couple of miles away and home to independent shops, bars, restaurants and the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. Carsington Water (5 miles) offers kayaking, cycling, and sailing, while Matlock Bath (4 miles) has a selection of cafes, ice cream parlours and the cable car to the Heights of Abraham. Matlock, Ashbourne, Bakewell and Chatsworth are all within 10 miles. The cottage entrance is reached via a flight of external steps.
