Riber View is a well-loved cottage praised for its comfort, especially the beds, and its well-equipped kitchen. The property offers lovely views and a garden that is appreciated by guests and their pets. Its location in Matlock is convenient for local exploration, despite the steep access road. Guests have enjoyed the local area and found the property to be a cosy base for their stay.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and comfortable. However, there were some concerns about dog hair, dust, and general cleanliness in certain areas, which suggests room for improvement in the cleaning regime.
The cottage is well-situated in Matlock with beautiful views and a convenient location for local attractions. The steep climb from the town centre is noted, but it does not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback about the location.
Guests consistently mention the comfort of the cottage, particularly the beds and the cosy atmosphere. The property is described as warm and welcoming, contributing to a relaxing stay.
The property is generally well-equipped, with a particularly well-stocked kitchen. However, there are comments about maintenance issues such as the dishwasher and the need for a deep clean in some areas. Parking is also noted as being tight for larger vehicles.

A beautiful terrace, Victorian cottage, with an enchanting feel, posted within the magnificent village of Matlock. Complete with spacious rooms and comforting features, this accommodation offers an excellent stay for families. Wander up the delightful garden path, and you will be intrigued by a warm and traditional sitting room containing leather seating, a large TV, and tied together by a feature wood burner. This lovely room is ideal for welcoming guests, or putting your feet up after an adventurous day. An open plan kitchen and dining area neighbours this space, an inviting and cosy set-up to enjoy those evening meals. Take the stairs, and you will arrive at an elegant shower room, which offers quality features and a clear-cut finish. A signature element of this property is the super-king size bedroom, which echoes a character stone wall, colourful bedding, and a view over the garden; Riber castle and nearby hillside. A second bedroom holds two single beds and lovely floor rugs, making a nice cosy effect. Steep steps lead down to a contemporary styled en-suite bathroom, nicely fitted and well arranged to meet your needs. If this isn't enough, why not enjoy a glass of wine on a sunny day, while relaxing on the patio area outside. Further afield, the village of Matlock is sure to inspire you, with a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a host of attractions including Gullivers Kingdom. To the north is the market town of Bakewell and Chatsworth House and Park - not to be missed. This is a very appealing cottage, tucked away into a memorable location.
The Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, offers a range of shops, pubs and restaurants.
