Guests say

Guests generally appreciate the cottage's peaceful location, comfortable furnishings, and the enclosed paddock for dogs. The local pub and proximity to Buxton and Bakewell are also highlights. While some guests mention issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests finding the cottage clean and well-prepared, while others noted it could be improved. The presence of both positive and negative comments suggests a generally satisfactory level of cleanliness with room for enhancement.

The location is highly praised for its tranquility, convenience for local attractions, and suitability for dog walking. The proximity to the local pub and towns like Buxton and Bakewell adds to the appeal, indicating a very favourable location.

Comfort is well-regarded, with guests finding the beds comfy and the cottage cosy, especially with the log burner. Some guests mentioned issues with furniture comfort, but these are relatively few compared to the overall positive feedback.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and thoughtful touches like a welcome pack. However, some guests noted that certain aspects, such as furniture and kitchen fittings, appear worn and could benefit from updating.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident in the welcome packs and information provided, which guests frequently mention appreciatively. It should be noted that such gifts, while often present, are a courtesy and not guaranteed.
