The Old Thatch is a charming, cosy cottage praised for its comfort, well-equipped kitchen, and lovely garden. It's well-situated for exploring nearby attractions and offers a homely atmosphere with modern conveniences. Guests appreciate the quietness indoors, despite some noting the busy road location.
Reviews indicate a generally clean environment, but some guests noted issues with dust, cobwebs, and pet hair. The majority found it clean, suggesting occasional lapses rather than a consistent problem.
The cottage's proximity to local amenities and attractions is well-regarded. However, its position on a busy road and a blind bend has been repeatedly mentioned as a concern, affecting ease of access.
Guests frequently describe their stays as comfortable and peaceful, with special mentions of comfy beds and a cosy lounge. The garden adds to the comfort, especially in good weather.
The property is praised for its well-equipped kitchen and homely touches. Some guests suggest improvements like a more powerful shower and better Wi-Fi coverage, but overall the facilities meet guests' needs.
Many guests were delighted by the welcome pack and festive decorations during holiday stays. While gifts are appreciated, they are subject to change and not guaranteed for every visit.

Lovely cottage although in a suburban housing estate. Very well equipped and comfortable.Exit from the parking is a challenge but do-able.

What a wonderful, cosy way to welcome in the new year. Fabulous cottage - homely and comforting. The most relaxing stay. Super welcome basket which was warmly appreciated. Close to so many places to explore and a stones throw from the coast. Cannot fault this lovely home and we would stay again in a heartbeat.

We spent Christmas here, from 24th December to 27th December 2025. We were three adults and a dog. We found it to be an extremely relaxing break. Very cosy, warm, and quaint. It was just what we needed after a traumatic year.Whilst we appreciate the exiting on to the road was not ideal due a blind bend, we wouldn't agree with other comments that this was hugely challenging - common sense is all that is needed.Overall, we would definitely return and recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful break. The only small issue was that the shower needs upgrading to a more powerful one.
