Guests say

The Old Thatch is a charming, characterful cottage praised for its comfort, well-equipped kitchen, and quiet bedrooms. Guests enjoyed the large garden and found the property to be a cosy base for exploring the surrounding areas. The welcome pack and festive touches were appreciated, adding to the homely feel.

Most guests found the cottage clean and well-maintained, though there were minor comments about dust and cobwebs. The overall impression remains positive, with the property being described as 'really clean'.

The cottage's proximity to local amenities and attractions is well-regarded, but several reviews mention the difficulty of exiting onto a busy road from the property, which affects the location score.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and quiet for sleeping, with super comfy beds and a pleasant surprise of an en suite toilet. The only drawback mentioned is the shower's water pressure.

The property is celebrated for its well-equipped kitchen, smart TV, and enclosed garden. However, points are deducted for Wi-Fi issues, a need for a shower upgrade, and minor maintenance niggles.

The welcome pack and festive decorations were noted and appreciated by guests, indicating thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may vary, not being a guaranteed feature of every stay.

Comfortable and handy for the coast. Located on a bend which made joining the main road quite testing. Also very sparse welcome pack...biscuits coffee tea and milk.

Fine old world thatched cottage with convieniance of being in a town.Super comfy with all mod cons, en suite toilet & sink hidden in wardrobe doors in one bedroom pleasnt surprise. Wonderfull large kitchen with all the appliances you might need, one small drawback to this is we spent more time in Kitchen which has poor wi-fi signal, perhaps a repeater could solve the issue. Suprisingly large garden to the rear which unfortunately we could not make best use of in Oct, but it must be great in summer months. There is a fish & chip shop about 500 yards up the hill and we can recommend it, lovely big portions of both fish & chips for the price despite visual impression when you see it from the road. Two supermarkets in town centre ASDA & TESCO, a 5 min ride away more than catered for our week stay.We had a happy peaceful stay and if you're looking for old world charm with comfort just a few miles from Eastbourne, Pevensey, Bexhill or even Brighton then we can recommend this delightful property.

A lovely cosy cottage with all you need for a weeks holiday. The kitchen is a good size and has all the equipment you would need for a self catering stay. The lounge is so quaint with a lovely fireplace and has good wifi and Smart TV for evenings in. The shower needs replacing immediately with an 11kw model as standing under a lukewarm dribble is not very nice.
