Tukes Cottage is a charming mid-terrace cottage just a short walk from the centre of the popular market town of Chipping Norton, the perfect base for a group of four or a couple seeking a relaxing retreat in the peaceful countryside of the North Cotswolds.

Head through the front door and into the small entrance hall where you can kick off your walking boots and enter the bright and welcoming living/dining room that has been designed for relaxation and is home to a stone surrounded fireplace with a woodburning stove and an additional gas fire, ensuring you are kept warm on those cold nights!

Close-by is the fabulous kitchen, a space that is home to all the essentials required to create fantastic meals for all the family with warming underfloor heating.

A handy cloakroom completes the ground floor and contains a WC.

In the evening, head up the stairs to the first floor where you will find three homely bedrooms; the master overlooks the front garden and has a lovely eye-catching feature wall with a double bed, built-in wardrobes, smart touch control bedside lights and a TV, the second bedroom overlooks the back garden and has a double bed, hanging and storage space for clothing and a TV, the third bedroom also has handy hanging and storage space and contains a single bed.

Completing the property is a bathroom containing a bath with an invigorating power shower over, perfect for an awakening rinse in the morning.

Catch the sunrise in the enclosed beautiful main garden which is accessed via the steep stone steps which lead to the sun terrace, sitting on the same level as the first-floor rooms, with a wooden gate leading to the enclosed terrace which is bathed in sunshine for most of the day in the summer months and houses a built-in barbecue, a table with seating for four and a parasol. Beyond the terrace is the wonderful tiered garden, laid mostly with lawn and bordered by pretty flowers and mature shrubs, then follow the path to the pergola where you will find the last tier which has planted fruit trees creating a mini orchard.

Once you’re ready for the day, head over to The Old Mill Coffee House and Bistro for some breakfast, before catching a show at Chipping Norton Theatre and finishing off your day with a delicious meal at one of the many pubs that sit within Chipping Norton such as The Red Lion and The Fox.

A short car journey will bring you to Chadlington where you will be able to indulge in delicious hamburgers, cool draft beers, lagers, ciders and rosé, and also the interesting cow juice at Diddly Squat Farm!

Nearby Kingham is a peaceful and secluded village, an excellent centre for walking and cycling with a number of walks and cycle rides centred on the village, set in the broad Evenlode valley with wide open village greens and a village shop, a church and two pubs; The Kingham Plough and The Wild Rabbit.

Chastleton is pretty little village lying close to Chipping Norton, where you can visit the well-known Chastleton House which is a splendid Grade l listed Jacobean manor built in the early 1600s.

The ancient town of Chipping Norton, steeped in history and culture, is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the shadow of the Rollright Hills in this unspoilt area of Oxfordshire. Chipping Norton boasts a popular weekly market, numerous book and antique shops, many cafes, restaurants and pubs serving excellent food and local ales, art galleries, a museum and a thriving theatre. Chipping Norton is surrounded by the pretty limestone villages of the Cotswolds and offers many walks and cycle trails from the town centre, together with a Lido, perfect for a relaxing swim at the end of a busy day. Blenheim Palace, Rousham House and Gardens and numerous National Trust properties are close by, and a little further afield Stratford Upon Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare, and the magnificent university town of Oxford are a real delight. A wonderful holiday destination, perfect for exploring all this lovely area has to offer.
