Just a short walk from Crooklets Beach and the glorious coastal path in the popular seaside town of Bude, this delightful Grade II listed holiday cottage nestles in a small hamlet and is the perfect choice for a family escape or a relaxing retreat with friends. Dating back to the 14th century and boasting its own large walled garden, Tremaer retains many original features, including exposed beams, stained glass, and a large stone fireplace with clome bread ovens. The welcoming family kitchen houses an Aga and on cooler evenings the wood burner gives the spacious living room a cosy glow.
A separate stable conversion provides a games room with pool table, table tennis and video player. Although not detached this spacious holiday property has a feeling of seclusion and the two en-suite master bedrooms make it ideally suitable for two families.
Dramatically perched on the North Cornish Coast, Bude retains its Victorian charm whilst offering something for everyone. In addition to a wealth of shops, inns (pub ½ mile) and restaurants, Bude (1 mile) offers 3 large sandy beaches, popular with sun bathers, surfers, and families alike - one beach even has a large seawater swimming pool. There is an 18-hole golf course, Splash leisure centre with fun pool, tennis, squash, and ten-pin bowling in Bude. Delightful walking can be found along the coast, with the North Cornwall Coastal Footpath offering pleasant scenery and opportunities for birdwatching and fishing. Horse riding is also available nearby. A trip to the ruined castle of Tintagel, set upon its rocky outcrop and bearing legends of King Arthur and Camelot, should certainly feature on any itinerary.
For those seeking to get away from it all, the wild heaths and moors of Dartmoor beckon further afield – here visitors can walk amid some of Britain’s most unspoilt landscapes. Situated in an ideal spot for touring the whole of Devon and Cornwall. Shop ½ mile.

We loved this quirky old house. Located near Bude is great. Lots to do in the area. We met the neighbours who were lovely and very helpful.

We all had a fantastic time at Tremaer, the owners were communicative and we had no need to contact them for anything after our arrival as everything was made clear prior. There are footpaths nearby that lead to Northcott Mouth and the National Trust cliff site, or you are a 5 minute drive from Crooklets beach in Bude and local shops, it's walkable but the lane isn't ideal for traversing when it's dark. The games room with pool table and ping pong table meant there was activities for when it rained, one very minor thing was that the cues and paddles have seen better days. The house was lovely as was the huge enclosed garden, very well equipped kitchen. No complaints about the stay whatsoever and we had a lovely time. Our only issue the entire stay was a neighbour who lives next door permanently who apparently hates holiday makers! We had a few unpleasant encounters with him where he complained about visitors, including a claim that we damaged his garden wall which was complete nonsense.

Tremaer is a delightful, well equipped and comfortable holiday home and we could not have made a better choice. Our party consisted of 5 adults from 3 generations and 2 dogs and there was ample space for all of us. All the rooms offer ample space, facilities and storage. All the beds used were very comfortable and the dogs had a large secure garden in which to play. The location is very peaceful, yet only a short distance to beaches, shops and eateries and is an ideal base from which to visit the wonderful coastal towns of Cornwall and north Devon.
