Tower House in Boscastle is a spacious and well-equipped cottage, ideally located for exploring North Cornwall. Guests appreciate the ample room for families, lovely garden, and convenient parking. The property’s traditional charm and kitchen facilities are frequently praised. While some areas would benefit from refurbishment and a more thorough clean, most guests enjoyed their stay and found the house comfortable and welcoming, with easy access to local amenities and scenic walks.
Several guests noted issues with cleanliness, such as dust, cobwebs, and areas needing a deeper clean, though others found the property spotless. Standards appear inconsistent, with some reporting a rushed cleaning job and others satisfied with the condition on arrival.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to Boscastle village, beautiful countryside, and local attractions. The setting is described as peaceful and ideal for exploring the area, though the steep hill may be challenging for some.
Guests generally found the house spacious and comfortable, with good-sized bedrooms and plenty of hot water. However, some mentioned uncomfortable mattresses and minor issues with lighting and seating, which affected their overall comfort.
The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, but some facilities such as the BBQ, blinds, and certain appliances were broken or in need of updating. Maintenance issues like tired décor and minor repairs were also mentioned.
Some guests mentioned a welcome pack and the promise of a complimentary bottle of wine, though these were not always provided. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed and may not be available during your stay.

The house itself is very comfortable and every room is a good size. It is a traditional Cornish cottage with lovely slate floors, fire places and large comfortable bedrooms. We found it was very well equipped and loved the outdoor decking which even in November was a nice spot for a coffee in the morning overlooking the garden and the countryside. The parking was very handy as we had three fairly large cars which we were relieved that we could park directly outside on the drive. We had one issue, which was actually our grandson unplugging the tv to use his PlayStation, the owners rang us back straight away and solved the problem immediately much to our embarrassment. Boscastle itself was lovely with three great pubs which were all very friendly and accommodated us, as large party, very well. We also loved the farm shop where the food was fantastic and has a stunning coast path walk to. Overall we all had a lovely stay and will definitely be returning to Tower House.

On arrival the property smelt of damp and musrt and not preheated. Garden furniture well past its best with no cushions and a dangerous plastic bench seat cracked and brittle from the elements. The outside stairs leading from the kitchen to the garden are rotten and subsiding to the left. The little patio by the bins has a 2ft gap all around not safe for children or pets. The garden itself is unkempt and in need of attention, looking like it just has some weed killer from time to time with views of disused timber. No BBQ two very tired picnic beaches. There is another ground-floor flat which I found on arrival going down a set of stairs on the inside through an open door to be presented by an unmade bed, dirty towel on a radiator. Untidy kitchen and lounge. I went back up the stairs shutting the door behind me and then saw the private sign, Initially not visible as the door was open. Very distressing as clearly someone else stays there and can access the house as the door only locks from their side. No mention of this in the property details clearly someone else stays there and I would not have booked had I known! The ground-floor double is very uncomfortable with springs poking up through the mattress. The curtains were hanging off the hooks so.i had to climb on the stool in an attempt to rectify it. The ensuite toilet is so badly positioned that unless you are a size zero it's very difficult to use. The shower door sticks and has a large step.into it. The furniture in that room very poor and the bed moves. The first floor double at the top of the stairs has a more comfortable bed but no chair, no dressing table and a huge room with barely anything in it. A blind that is broken and red voile curtains that block out nothing! The bunk beds move so the 12 year old twins slept top and tail in the bottom double. The other double room again was cramped and had springs poking out of the mattress. Nobody slept well and you don't expect to come away and have a worse night's sleep than at home. The bathroom with shower over bath needs a replacement plug as the water rubs out of the basin, no curtains or blind. The shower room the water gathers and you think you are going to have a flood.Kitchen is not new it was installed in 2018 and is in need of a new cooker. Fairly well equipped but no measuring jugs. Floors are slate and again need repairing. The information folder is out of date the chip shop closed in 2024! The two shops close before 8pm and not 9pm as stated, and most days don't even have milk. I would suggest avoiding the property until it has its issues attended to. I took my family away to visit the area where Doc Martin was filmed, we loved that part of our holiday, also the Cobweb Inn the Wellington and the Bakery we just stayed out as long as possible because of our disappointment in accommodation.

Great location and the house was a perfect size for 2 families. The house just needs a little TLC to bring it up to scratch eg the bathroom ceiling needs painting, the fridge needs a thorough clean and some air fresheners wouldnât go a miss.
